FOTD: Young Star Yearbook + pre-TNAD

I posted my FOTD for the Tama na ang Drama launch, but what I didn’t say was that that was what I wore to a photoshoot for a Young Star feature. We were told to wear “picnic clothes,” so I stuck to practicality (lol) and wore cargo pants, a nice, breezy white top, and a scarf for, I don’t know, flair or something. FOTD: El Cirkulo

FOTD + WIWT(o) a dinner at El Cirkulo! It was my first time eating there, so Sarie took the reins and ordered Beef Belly, Bone Marrow, and Paella Negra. Best beef belly I have tasted, as well as the best bone marrow. I have sampled the ones in Wildflour and Lusso, and El Cirkulo’s is so far the best I have tried. The bone marrow comes with a whole bone (shin? leg? I don’t really know) split in half, some yummy beef stew, toasted bread and some sea salt. You scoop a bit of the beef stew on to the toast, then top it off with a spoonful of bone marrow and a sprinkling of salt. Delicious. “The best beef belly in all the land.” — Sarie Cruz Mmm, food, get in my belleh! I wore my Degas ballerina necklace for the first time that day. 🙂 Sarie! 🙂 On our way to karaoke! FOTD and WIWT the launch of Ang Bandang Shirley’s newest album, Tama na ang Drama. Like I said, I’ve been staying away from foundation and tinted moisturizer. I don’t remember putting concealer, either. I used Benefit’s Lemon Aid as my primer. How Exceptional is the Rouge G L’Extrait’s “Exceptional Hold”?: A Special FOTD Review

I know I said I was on a makeup ban, but what do you expect me to do when my Guerlain SA, Jean, texts me about a 30% off sale. “Resist like a responsible adult, Carina,” you might say. Unfortunately, I can’t hear you as I’m drowning in lipstuff happiness. See, my friend Gracie, keeps asking me if I plan on buying any shades from Guerlain’s Rouge G L’Extrait line. And I’m just always so puzzled by the persistence. I mean, what’s so great about this lip gloss, really? What about it would make me want to drop $48 on one color? Pretty steep, if you ask me. That said, I don’t think I would ever buy it at original price, unless I had a more stable and higher-paying income. For a 30% off sale, though, I think I can forgive myself. So, the Rouge G L’Extrait by Guerlain is a line of “lip colour” that they released pretty recently, in August 2012. It’s a “lip colour” because it looks like a gloss—with a doe-foot …

Face of the Day and What I Wore To—the Yabu launch in Mall of Asia. You can read about the good food (read: new dishes!) here or over at Sarie’s blog. I wore this face for a work date, but retouched my eye makeup and reapplied my lipstick before heading on over to Yabu. The blush had faded noticeably after around four-and-a-half hours of wear. Decided against reapplying because I kinda like the flush it left. This is not how I looked like, after sampling one (or three) Umami burgers. It just so happens that I’m prone to making such faces. EOTD: Something Out of Nothing

Here is today’s EOTD featuring the Avon True Color Quad in Sandy Corals (reviewed here) and my new favorite weapon, Majolica Majorca Lash Expander Frame Plus 12! I have practically no relationship with mascara, because I never understood how to use it. Every time I tried one on, my lashes would look the same and I’d end up with black brush imprints on my lid or under eye area. I never knew I wanted lusher lashes until now! Luckily, my mom had an extra bottle because of a sale purchase a few months ago. So now, I have my own. 🙂 It’s got a two-sided applicator, one side a comb and the other a coil. I haven’t used it all that much to master application, though. There’s a slight blue-grey tinge to it that I don’t mind and actually enjoy quite a bit. It’s also a fibre-based formula, which has fibres that stick to your lashes, helping to elongate them. At first, I thought they were hairs from my mom’s lashes! Here’s my whole FOTD, …
