ILIA Beauty - Multi-Stick, Tinted Lip Conditioner, Lipstick, Mascara, Lip Crayon

ILIA Beauty Lip Swatch Video + Swatches

A few months ago, I did an ILIA Roundup, in which I spoke a bit about the ILIA products I have, up until that point, tried. I started thinking about what videos I could make and thought it would be somewhat helpful to do a try-on sort of video in which I wear the ILIA lip products I have to demonstrate how they look on my face. If you’re not familiar with ILIA, it’s a Canadian beauty brand founded in 2011 that specializes in organic lip products, “dedicated to creating the purest products possible. The ethical-sustainable approach embodied in each piece is filled with certified organic bio-active botanicals that nourish and rejuvenate the skin.” Says its founder, Sasha Plavsic: “Somebody once said to me, that because its organic its good for you, and it doesn’t matter if it doesn’t work as well as the mainstream stuff – I intend to change their mind.” Plavsic has a background in design and aesthetics, having worked with brands like Oliver Peoples, Chrome Hearts, and Cartier, which probably explains …

Make That Face Monday: My Go-To Urban Decay Naked 3 Look

I’ve been putting off this video for a really long time—like, unspeakably long—but now here it is! It’s a sped-up sort of GRWM with a voice-over that has a typical full-face routine. I’ve tried all of the 12-pan Naked palettes by Urban Decay, and I think that the Naked 3 is my favorite. I don’t think you get a lot of variety from it as it’s a pretty full-on rose obsession, but the looks I get with it are just always SO PRETTY. In the end, the face looks like this: I just realized that this video may have exposed my really shitty brow job, lol. It’s all good, though, because I don’t carve out my brows that much. I just follow the regular, “groomed~” shape and call it a day. I don’t think anyone in my immediate vicinity cares about eyebrows all that much anyway. I sure don’t. Video: Korea Haul, 2014!

Finally. I asked if anyone wanted a video haul, and a few said sure, so now here we are. I actually filmed and edited an earlier version of this, but decided that the camera was too up in my grillz so I ended up re-shooting allll the footage, because it was just not working out. Anyway, this is a bit longer than I’d like my videos to be, but I find that I actually kind of really like it when hauls are kinda long. (Is that just me?) Enjoy, prs! My Eyeshadow Diagram

So, Tellie asked me to make a quick diagram of my “eye makeup” because she was confuddled about where to put what color. I was kind of surprised she asked me because I don’t think my technique (lol) has evolved that much, but here is a general sketch of how I do things ‘round these parts. Here are my eyes. As you can see, I have just a little bit of lid space. It’s pretty fun to add different shades and levels of haziness (more on that later) right above the crease, but for the lid space, I observe the rule of thirds. By the way—I tried so many times to make a video demonstration of this. It was really hard, and I had to wash my right eye three times before I gave up trying because it was itching so damn much from all the soap. So, I did it some other day. YER WELCOME. When I was starting out, I would shade in the inner third with a darker color as well, but …

The Lip Product Addict Tag

I am, by no means, a lip product addict… but I do like doing fun tags every once in a while. I have an okay relationship with lip products. I mean, they’re alright to hang out with and whip out and stuff, but I have never stared lovingly at a lip product like the way I do with palettes. It’s just not the same. ETA: OK, this video is cut off, so I’m reuploading it. Sorry for this dumb mistake and thanks to Zoë for mentioning something! ETA 2: YAY reuploaded! Ahem. The Lip Product Addict Tag was started by Amelia Liana and Estée on YouTube. Here are their questions, in case you want to give this a go, too: 1. Favourite balm/treatment? 2. Best eye-catching red? 3. Best luxury & best drugstore? 4. Best MAC lipstick? 5. The most disappointing? 6. Liner – yes or no? 7. Best gloss? 8. Something extra! And here is their original video. Let me know if you’ve done this tag (and paste your link in the comments!), or …

Lazy Girl Makeup: Quickly

A look for all y’all who need to get out of the door quickly! Here’s the look, with my old hair, still: It’s pretty basic and safe-ish, but passably put-together if I may say so myself. I don’t tend to fuss too much with base/complexion products when I’m in a hurry, but on a real bad skin day, I will pick up a concealer and target problem spots and areas. Here’s a video in which I talk a bit more about the products and show you how I use them: Products Mentioned: — NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer (Ginger) — Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder (shown: Luminous Light) — K-Palette Real Lasting Eyebrow 24H (02) — MAC Paint Pot (shown: Constructivist) — MAC Eye Kohl (shown: Prunella. Teddy) — Illamasqua Cream Blusher (shown: Dixie) — BECCA Beach Tints (shown: Raspberry) — Addiction by Ayako Cheek Sticks (shown: Revenge) — NARS Pure Matte Lipstick (Montego Bay) What are your go-tos for a quick makeup look? 🙂 Follow me: Bloglovin' • Twitter • Instagram • YouTube • Facebook

Make That Face Monday, Monday, Monday: Tegan and Sara (Heartthrob Album Cover)

Riding on a show high, here’s a very easy talk-through tutorial on this lewk by the Quin Twins, donned in a photography used for their latest album cover, Heartthrob. Tegan and Sara is a Canadian pop duo that recently performed here. I am still kind of reeling from the awesome experience, which I have posted about on my blog here, in case you care to read about it. 🙂 Anyway, I chose this look because it is deceptively neutral. It is quite wearable and “safe,” despite having orange and violet eyeshadow, a super strong contour and frosty/pearly pink lips. I love how it kinda dupes everyone into thinking that you are wearing neutrals/an “everyday” look because it’s not so loud and not so bold. I don’t know, I didn’t notice their makeup was so colorful, did you guys? That contour, though! I can’t recreate/wear/pull it off. Also surprised at the pinkness of the lip color selection! And with all the tough-face posing I was doing, I just had to take a break and smile a …
