June Favorites

Short post dedicated to the stuff I was using last month that gave me a lot of happies. 🙂 I’m still pretty over the moon with them a week+ into July. Skin Care — Antipodes Worship Superfruit Antioxidant Serum* This stuff’s amazing, I’ve been using it a lot with different types of moisturizers and facial oils. It’s a little boost of antioxidants and my skin’s been loving it. — Antipodes Vanilla Pod Hydrating Day Cream* This is a light moisturizer that plays well with humidity and smells so, so good and fresh. It’s got Manuka honey and the same antioxidant concoction as the Worship serum. I don’t use this everyday, but it’s always a pleasant experience when I do. Makeup — Kevyn Aucoin Sculpting Powder (Medium) I love this! I use this all the time, I don’t even use blush anymore. It’s a good contour powder and I mostly exclusively use this, putting aside even my Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Radiant Light because I can’t with the shimmer this summer. Anyway, again: I love …

FOTD: Cool Cut Crease + a Strong Cheek

An FOTD that’s not my typical boring face. I keep trying to use this Maybelline concealer but it’s really shit. Not sure why people like it so much. I feel so ashy-faced, but I’m not sure if it’s because of the color match or the texture. Leaning towards the texture, which just makes me feel cakey for some reason. It’s really weird. I have a pretty full bottle here (shade Medium) if anyone wants it. I got rid of the sponge but it’s pretty intact otherwise.

FOTD: Olives & Pears

I wore this look recently to a birthday dinner. The pear-like qualities of ColourPop’s Sleigh is a little subtle—it’s described as an “icy sage”—but that’s OK. It lets me wear a pink as bright as Tom Ford’s Flamingo, which is a shade that I’m still not sure why I even bought. Here are swatches of the eyeshadows I used: Swatched, top to bottom: MAKE Khaki*, Rouge Bunny Rouge Abyssinian Catbird, ColourPop Sleigh Base/Face Glossier Perfecting Skin Tint (Medium), Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder (Ethereal Light), Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush (Mood Exposure) Lips Tom Ford Flamingo: I don’t know, you guys. I just can’t seem to really get into this lip color. I mean, it doesn’t look horrible or too garish, but I think that my aversion to purples and oranges switched on over to bright, medium pinks. I DON’T KNOW WHAT IT IS. And I hate that I bought this lipstick in this color, haha. Thoughts?! Eyes K-Palette Real Lasting 2Way Eyebrow Marker (G101, powder only)*, Nature Republic Eye Primer, ColourPop Super Shock Shadow (Sleigh), MAKE …

FOTD: Carinae + Gloss

I did a desk clear-out of my vanity area and fished out some of the under-appreciated items from the depths of my drawers. Everything I love is lost in drawers, as the song goes. Except Matt Berninger probably didn’t mean makeup. Ahem.

March Favorites: 2015

A quick post to highlight some of my favorites this month! As you might have probably noticed, I had a “beauty slump” in the past few weeks. I’m getting back into it now, but I was pretty into having a routine this month. I’ve got a few makeup bits here, but most of it is some type of skin and body care.

FOTD: Dominique

Quick post of an FOTD, in which I had to force myself to wear a non-neutral lip and not regret it. (It worked out okay.) I was also watching a video on highlighters the night before and it made me really want to break out my BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector again, so I did.

MAKE Galentine’s Day Giveaway

Hello fair people of the Internet! I come bearing gifts. So, this giveaway has been in the works for a few months now, but between the holiday rush and international postage times, well… let’s just say it took a while. Although I meant for it to be a holiday giveaway, I’m opting to do a Galentine’s Day Giveaway, instead. For this round, I’m randomly picking 3 winners who will each get a bag filled with MAKE goodies. 🙂 MAKE is an amazing company and they put 33.33% of all direct purchases from We See Beauty towards the We See Beauty Foundation, which establishes and supports cooperatives. One of the reasons why I am so glad that I get to do this giveaway is knowing that it may lead to further support for a company that values craftsmanship, artistry, and prioritizes a good model for business and partnership. I’ve written about them numerous times, and you can see all of those posts here. What You’ll Win — 1 MAKE Solstice Bronzer in Warm #1 — 1 …
