FOTD: Hello, Rome

Hiya, I finally managed to take good photos of my makeup before it got too dark out! I’ve been feeling pretty bored and repetitive, so I ~tried~ to play with my eye makeup this time around. Still neutrals, though, but I cracked open my Makeup Revolution I Heart Chocolate palette* (a supposed dupe for the TooFaced Chocolate Bar palette) and tbh, I’m still quite impressed by it. Realized, too, that I haven’t posted any looks using this palette. Face & Cheeks Rediscovered my y.e.t. Cosmetics Fill It Up Primer… And I kind of don’t like how it ended up working with my makeup. My initial review of it was kind of glowing, lol. But maybe it’s the face oil I used. For this look, I used MAKE Soft Focus Foundation, powdered down with Le Métier de Beauté Peau Vierge Anti-Aging Pressed Powder. I used Kevyn Aucoin Sculpting Powder for my contour, and am wearing a beautiful MAC blush (!) called Breezy, which I got from Laura as a gift. 🙂 Eyes & Lips Eyebrows courtesy …

My Picks from BITE Beauty

BITE was always one of the brands that I had been itching to try out since finding out about them. What sets them apart from all the other lipsticks out there is that they use food-grade ingredients, which means that, technically, these lip products are safe for you to actually ingest. Their tagline is “Lip color that’s good enough to eat.” Sometimes, a range or a brand can be a tad bit overwhelming that you don’t really know where to start, so you don’t even begin the exploration. Luckily, my trip happened, although I am also a little disappointed that I didn’t get to decide on everything I wanted and ended up getting just three things. What I really, really wanted to try was the BITE Agave Lip Mask, which is a lip treatment that is supposedly a godsend. I mentioned it in an earlier haul as well as a favorites post, and truthfully, this stuff is amazing. I’m not a fan of the scent, but that’s not a deal-breaker, as I just need for …

Buxom Big and Healthy Lip Cream in White Russian*

Earlier this month, I got sent two items by My Socal Shoppe, and one of them was a deluxe sized mini of the Buxom Big and Healthy Lip Cream in White Russian. I already have another shade, Berry Blast, reviewed here, so I was quite familiar with the formula already. Thankfully, I’m a big fan of the formula. White Russian is actually more my speed when it comes to lip products. I find myself a bit mistrustful of bright pinks and violets, so this beautiful pale pink shade is actually kind of perfect and more Carina-friendly. It is sort of like a very milky pale pink—and is opaque for a gloss. (I guess that’s why they call it a cream.) I have pretty pigmented lips, so I had to make sure that I covered every inch of that lip edge so I don’t look like an inadvertent chola. I didn’t do a very good job, but you can see what I mean! I wouldn’t call it a liquid lipstick, so it’s definitely an opaque, milky …

Quickie: Buxom Big & Healthy Lip Cream in Berry Blast

Purchased on a whim, as part of one of my first Sephora order, I got myself this Big & Healthy Lip Cream in Berry Blast. Upon further inspection of the range—of course, after making said purchase—I realize that I would have been happier with another color. Regardless, this is a great lip gloss/cream formula, especially if you are not a terribly big fan of glosses. Product Description: “A creamy, pout-perfecting gloss for voluptuous lips. Tingle, plump, and shine your smile to super-sexy proportions. No shimmer, no glimmer—this creamy lip gloss delivers velvety-smooth color with intoxicating shine. The hyaluronic filling spheres infuse lips with moisture for creamy soft perfection and the look of a full, extra-kissable pout. Vitamins A and E help keep the skin supple, yet protected, and the fun tingling sensation reminds you the gloss is hard at work. Wear alone or over lipstick to create the look of fuller, more voluptuous lips. Formulated WITHOUT: Parabens, Sulfates, Phthalates, GMOs, Triclosan.” Berry Blast is a blindingly bright cool berry shade that swatches quite opaquely. On …
