Lazy Girl Makeup: Quickly

A look for all y’all who need to get out of the door quickly! Here’s the look, with my old hair, still: It’s pretty basic and safe-ish, but passably put-together if I may say so myself. I don’t tend to fuss too much with base/complexion products when I’m in a hurry, but on a real bad skin day, I will pick up a concealer and target problem spots and areas. Here’s a video in which I talk a bit more about the products and show you how I use them: Products Mentioned: — NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer (Ginger) — Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder (shown: Luminous Light) — K-Palette Real Lasting Eyebrow 24H (02) — MAC Paint Pot (shown: Constructivist) — MAC Eye Kohl (shown: Prunella. Teddy) — Illamasqua Cream Blusher (shown: Dixie) — BECCA Beach Tints (shown: Raspberry) — Addiction by Ayako Cheek Sticks (shown: Revenge) — NARS Pure Matte Lipstick (Montego Bay) What are your go-tos for a quick makeup look? 🙂 Follow me: Bloglovin' • Twitter • Instagram • YouTube • Facebook

June Monthly Favorites & July Beauty Goals

Aside from my Beauty Dare (20 Days of Lipstick), June was a pretty lazy makeup month, partly because I was more antisocial than usual. Here are a few of the beauty bits I enjoyed a lot the past month, though. I kept switching it up in the eye makeup department, but a quad that I went back to a lot is THREE’s Star Guitar. I also practically used a MAC Paint Pot called Groundwork on my lids as a primer when I became too dark to use Painterly. I’m still loving my NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer. I have the shade Ginger and was convinced that I maybe should have gotten Custard instead but that turned out to be too light for me. For my quick face base, I was using the Le Métier de Beauté Peau Vierge Anti-Aging Pressed Powder in Shade 2 a lot last month, though towards the end, I began using my liquid foundations and bases more. My go-to cheek has definitely been the Illamasqua Cream Blusher in Dixie. I used to …

Makeup Inventory + One Week Series: Rouge Bunny Rouge Long-Lasting Eyeshadows

My Rouge Bunny Rouge Long-Lasting Eyeshadows multiplied like gremlins when I jumped on an RBR sale. Prior to that sale, I only had Solstice Halcyon and Abyssinian Catbird, which is a really pretty soft taupe, so I actually have a swatch post of these shades, sans Solstice Halcyon and Eclipse Eagle, already (click here). So I figured I might as well show how beautifully these shadows apply on my actual face. Swatched, L-R: Solstice Halcyon, Bohemian Waxwing, Eclipse Eagle, Delicate Hummingbird, Abyssinian Catbird, Periwinkle Cardinal, Tantalizing Lovebird, Bejewelled Skylark The quality and texture of these shadows are unreal—I don’t mind the price tag… much. I mean, I get why they’re so expensive: because they are phenomenal. You’ll notice that I don’t have any mattes here. While I’m sure their mattes are exceptional, I didn’t find a shade that I was willing to spend 24€ on. My favorites are probably Solstice Halcyon, Delicate Hummingbird, Abyssinian Catbird, and Bejewelled Skylark. The most obvious beautiful texture belongs to Delicate Hummingbird and Abyssinian Catbird; they truly feel like the …

20 Days of Lipstick: Week 3 Recap

Hello to a late and incomplete Week 3 Recap. I only have 3 lip colors to show you this week, because there are times when a hermit just needs to be a hermit. Yesterday, I also wore a neutral lip (more on that later). Anyway, here are the lip colors I managed to wear! If you’re new (hello!), I’ve been trying to not fall into the trap of a neutral/MLBB type of lip… at least for 20 Days. DAY TWELVE feat. OCC Lip Tar in Lydia ACK, Lip Tars. I love ’em, but I don’t wear them often enough. Lydia is a purple-y mauve that translates really pink-ly on me. I love it, but it looks like I’ve cheated because it looks like a normal, not-so-bold lip color, huuu. Sorry, guys. I tried! Also, elephant in the room: my eye is really frakking red. I had to remove an eyelash, so that happened. DAY THIRTEEN feat. Tarte Glamazon Pure Performance 12-Hour Lipstick in Bold Yay, another lipstick from Laala! I love this lip—definitely a statement …

Lazy Girl Makeup: Day to Night Using MAC Mythology

Ever since I posted my first Lazy Girl Makeup post, I’ve been wanting to make a new one. Alas, I had been too lazy to actually make the posts. Here’s a pretty easy Day to Night look that centers on only three MAC eyeshadows: All That Glitters, Sketch, and Mythology. I actually used one more—Smut—but only as a really subtle wing for the Day Look. Speaking of which, here’s the Day Look: I’ve got All That Glitters all over the lid with a bit of Sketch lightly buffed into the outer corner of the lid and the outer 1/4 of the lower lash line. Like i said, I used Smut on the upper lash line for a little definition. Rest of the makeup: The Body Shop Brow & Liner Kit (02) for brows, MAX Factor Masterpiece Max Mascara*, MAC Blush (Springsheen), MAC Lustre Lipstick (See Sheer) lightly dabbed on lips. I had a completely different thing I had in mind for a Day to Night look, but I saw this look by Karima of Shameless …

Nosy Beauty Vol. 30: Elaine

Ah! A new installment of Nosy Beauty. I am a failure at uploading, because Elaine actually sent this to me a few weeks ago but I hadn’t been able to fix it up in a post for you just yet. Anyway, please wish me luck as I try to wrangle up some future features and lightly tap the people I’ve already asked for updates. Ahem. Elaine is my internet friend (though we met in line for The National when they played here!) and I first knew her through her blog, ourconsciousness, I think. She also started blogging about beauty and body acceptance here on Flabs Rule The World, which I love. • Hello! My name is Elaine and I’m a Digital Marketing Specialist so you’ll always see me on the Internet. When I’m not online – which rarely happens – I read or binge watch television shows. It’s only recently that I discovered my interest in makeup and blogging about it. I’m a huge fan of Nosy Beauty and today I’m in it (achievement unlocked!) …

Hitting Pan

I finally did it. I finally hit pan! Granted, it’s not for a color cosmetic like an eyeshadow or a lipstick, but for a product that I’ve been using pretty much everyday, on and off for two years. Behold: the dark shade of my The Body Shop Brow & Liner Kit in 02 is showing some silver. YAAAAAS! I’ve attempted a lot of Project 10 Pan batches, but I’m really more of a rotater than a MUST-FINISH-THIS-THING so it didn’t work out so well. A lot of the stuff, I ended up giving away, and some I threw out. I suppose this puts my makeup buying into perspective. I don’t feel ashamed or guilty that I’ve amassed a sizable collection, but I just realized just how much I would have to keep using something to finish it up. I’m not too iffy with expiration dates, except for mascara and when something starts to smell funky, so I don’t really bother too much with monitoring which cosmetics might “go bad.” As Gandalf wisely said, “If in …
