So, the holiday collections have rolled out, and I haven’t even caught my breath yet and the next season’s makeup collections already have ads popping up everywhere! So, this is what it feels like to be updated with beauty news. I gotta say, I am a little bit scared!
But of course, I’m excited, too. Holiday 2012 saw a lot of plums, muted tones, reds and golds, and metallics. The thing I’ve noticed for most of the Spring 2013 collections I’ve seen is that they are trying to push bright, youthful eye looks.
Here are a few items that I’m anticipating from Guerlain’s Spring 2013 offerings:

L-R: Écrin 4 Couleurs Collector’s Palette (#501 Attrape-Coeur), Shine Automatique (#761 Flirt), Rouge Automatique (#600 Ballade), Écrin 4 Couleurs (#502 Coup de Foudre)
Ah, I have been smitten with Guerlain ever since I purchased the Turandot quad from the Holiday 2012 collection. I’ve looked many-a-time at the Guerlain counter in Rustan’s Makati, on the off-chance that one of the other quads will catch my eye, but that has yet to happen—until now. Can you guess what it is that I am dying to try out?
Yep, the Écrin 4 Couleurs in Coup de Foudre! Here’s how Guerlain’s PR describes the quad shades: green, silvery patina, bronze-khaki, vibrant coral. I don’t know about you, but PR pictures sans swatches are enough to make me drool!
Cils d’Enfer Maxi Lash Mascara (available in Noir & Violet)
I’ve never tried Guerlain mascaras, but I’m extremely curious about the violet shade! Also, what is that I spy in the background of the center photo? Could it be a limited edition météorites brush?
Guerlain Météorites (Perles du Paradis)
Speaking of Météorites… Here’s Perles du Paradis! Krysty alerted me to this a couple of weeks ago, but it’s only now that I saw an official press photo for it! From the photo, it seems that there are five colors: a matte lavender, a shimmery grey-green, a semi-shimmery fuschia, a matte cream/off-white, and a matte pale pink. Eenteresting… Do I want it?
Is that even a question!
L-R: Rouge Automatique (#601 Romance, #600 Ballade), Shine Automatique (#762 Rendez-vous, #761 Flirt), Kiss Kiss Gloss (#870 Cherry Pink, #849 Frizzy Mango)
And for lip products, it seems that they have six shades, two for each of the three different formulations. I haven’t tried these yet, so I can’t say which texture I would like to try the best, but I’m eyeing the Rouge Automatique in #600 Ballade and the Shine Automatique in #762 Rendez-vous. Too pretty! Not feeling any of the glosses, though.
Judging from my “personal picks,” I can’t possibly pay for all of it, so I think I will probably end up trying the Écrin 4 Couleurs eyeshadow palette in Coup de Foudre, and—if I had to pick one lip product—the Rouge Automatique in #600 Ballade. I can probably live without the météorites. Probably.
If I can get over the pretty.
How about you? Anything from the Guerlain Spring 2013 collection that tickles your fancy?

I’m dying to get one of the météorites. The kisskiss gloss is a bit thick, not super sticky but not slick, I purchased mine and hated it for the first few days and intended on exchanging it for the rouge g l’extrait but it really grew on me; the shade I got was a really pretty watermelon color. I think I mentioned this before but definitely try the mascara! Great coverage post, I haven’t seen anything about the new spring collection yet and now I can’t wait!
My friend Krysty (http://vainjanewrites.wordpress.com) is a Guerlain nut and she wrote about Météorites a few weeks back. Honestly, it’s really hard to capture the radiance~~ it gives you, especially in pictures, but it really exists! I hope you can get one soon 🙂 I really love mine.
And yes, you mentioned mascara! 🙂 That’s why I was also excited when I saw these new ones for this collection. Although the packaging is different, yeah?
I got one of the Terracotta glosses and I love it a lot! Maybe I’ll try out one of these. LOL if only they didn’t cost so much!
Also, thank you!
Oh I know! I made my purchase during a cosmetic trend show at Nordstroms, my $15 ticket for the show was reimbursed through a product purchase and all the makeup counters started their holidays sales that weekend. Once a year is all I can afford right now but it takes me a long time to plan out quality purchases. LOL. Thanks for the link.
Oh my gosh, that’s so awesome! Yeah, I’ve been trying not to spend so much and so far, I think it’s been working. 🙂
See? Perles du Paradis is smashing 🙂
I wonder what it does to the face! The colors are unreal; I can’t imagine what they do :0
I can’t wait to see Perles du Paradis in person!! Been holding back on the Perles du Dragon since I saw this Perles du Paradis promo pic online!
Right? You’re like “Hmm… I don’t think I need to buy that” when you see the pinks and purples at first. Then you’re like “… but I wonder how it’ll look on me!” Hehe, I can’t wait. 🙂
