I’ve been super into not-quite lipsticks lately, so expect a barrage of reviews over the next few days. It’s a bit perfect, really, if you’re on the look-out for a great holiday lips, since I have been experimenting with darker shades. 🙂 Today, I have Revlon ColorBurst Lip Gloss in Bordeaux up for review, which I got on sale last Sunday.
A pop of weightless color with vivid, mirror-like shine. Outshines everything but you!
- Micro-crystal formula for 5X the shine of patent leather
- Plush applicator shaped to curves of your lips for smooth, even application of colour
- ColorBurst’s Elasticolor™ technology for rich color with a weightless feel
- Moisturizers and anti-oxidants such as sweet almond oil and vitamin E conditions and improves lip texture
- Available in 15 vibrant, on-trend shades
Bordeaux is a really pretty shade. I talked about “Bordeaux,” as in the color, a few entries back, when I reviewed the Prestigious Bordeaux Eye and Cheek Palette from the shu uemura x Karl Lagerfeld collection. It is, essentially, a wine red with a hint of brown. Revlon has interpreted the color with a more pinky purple tint to it than what I have in my head, like the browns that should be part of Bordeaux have taken the back seat.
Still, though, it’s a pretty enough color. I think it’s an understated statement color—a friendly shade that has a dramatic enough pop.
As for formulation, I like it better than the Liquid Lipsticks (LLs) because it wears more comfortably on the lips. There’s a typical lip gloss-induced slight stickiness, but nothing like the tackiness I experienced wearing the LLs. Texture upon application is a bit tacky, but it’s easier to apply than the LLs, in terms of staying within the lines.
The applicator is similar to a doe-foot applicator, but the shape is closer to a paddle.
De-zombify yourself! Quickly!
There is nothing exceptional about the wear; I think the highlight for this product really is the vibrancy of the shades and the lightweightedness of the formula. It’s really comfortable to wear! It is also neither drying nor hydrating. It’s great to wear out if you don’t mind reapplying.
VERDICT: Great gloss find if you’re a fan of colors!
Will I purchase again? Yes!
How much? Php 545 or $ 7.49 for 0.20 fl. oz. Bought for Php 300 at the Watsons sale.

You look great in dark lippies! 🙂
Thank you, Juvy! ❤ 🙂
Hi loff! If I’m on the lookout for really buttery, kind of sheer, natural looking lip color. What would you recommend? (And would you believe, Revlon Lip Butter in sugar plum is out of stock so far in all the places I’ve visited here in Seattle. What.)
Well, lip butters are sheer enough! I would recommend Peach Parfait or Pink Truffle (to tr!) if wala nang stock si Sugar Plum. Try NARS Dolce Vita. 🙂 Rightmost. http://www.temptalia.com/images/fall09/nars_lipstick_swatches007.jpg
NARS’ Sheer Range is pretty great. Try to stick to non-glittery ones tho cos my Pago Pago is not as buttery as Vendanges. http://www.temptalia.com/nars-lipsticks-swatches
Thanks! 😀 Will be lipstick hunting when I go to Sephora. Are you still on a make-up ban? I’m still in the USA in case there’s something you’d like me to bring home for you. Heehee.
Naw, the ban has been lifted on the 15th! I do want a couple (!) of things, lol. Would it be OK to have them shipped to ya? Or IDK. Let me know what you think 🙂 Thanks, Bibilabimbi!
