Just dropping in very quickly to offer two spring lip ideas, the NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams in Antwerp and San Paulo. I got these on two separate occasions, settling for San Paulo (is this a mistake?) because I originally wanted Antwerp but it was out of stock. Side by side, I think San Paulo suits me better, though.
Antwerp (left) is a bright but subdued coral pink, while San Paulo (right) is a muted berry pink. They are both a breeze to apply and are great for the price. I know they look really similar, but they are very different shades. I should probably get better lighting.
I love the color range of this NYX line; however, I do think they could also improve on the formula. These are sort of like the Guerlain Rouge G L’Extraits because they are liquid lipsticks that dry down to a matte finish, but obviously, the formula of the L’Extrait is heaps better.
I wore San Paulo out a few times already, but I kept having to check my lips every now and again, because the middle part (opening of the lip) tends to fade away faster, leaving an unsightly chola lip ring. Yikes. I feel like a lip primer or a lip pencil will help with the longevity, but I can’t be too sure.
I also do not like the sweet vanilla scent, but that’s just my own preference and prejudice against vanilla-scented cosmetics. It’s good, though, because I could stop buying Tom Ford and MAC lipsticks. Just kidding, as if.
Anyway, hope this helps you out! I’m exploring a bunch of spring looks and I have a tutorial coming up for “soft neutrals,” though I’m sure you guys are all sick of this non-committal party. (Get it? No? Okay.) I’m posting it anyway, so there.
Thanks for reading!
The colours are gorgeous;)
Glad you think so! 🙂
I like how pigmented these look, but the uneven fading could be a problem. I guess for the price you can’t ask for everything though!
Yeah, such a pity! I thought I could just leave the L’Extraits alone, hehe. Alas.
I found myself reaching for Antwerp more often these days. It’s a shame the lasting power isn’t so good but at Php 280, I guess I can’t complain. 🙂
*I find myself…
(Haha I got OC about my grammar)
I wish it would just erase evenly, though, you know? Haha! I shall try with a lip liner. Btw, if you’re still having trouble with “The Truth,” there are some useful tutorials on YT 🙂 like this one!
Oooh yay thanks! I’ll check that out tomorrow 🙂 I plan to buy primer too because my lids get really oily midday! Also severely tempted to get myself the UD Naked & Naked Basics palette. Ikaw kasiiii hahaha
