Quickie: Le Métier de Beauté Colour Core Moisture Stain Lipstick in Bondi Beach

I’ve had this lipstick for a while now—it’s been in my drafts since January 26—but I haven’t gotten around to writing a proper review, I think because of the pictures. The original pictures I had taken made the lipstick look so red and so vampy, I don’t even know what I did to get that sort of dramatic color shift. Anyway, now that I’ve got a proper picture, let’s talk lipstick!

Le Metier de Beaute Lipstick - Bondi Beach Tube

This is the Le Métier de Beauté Colour Core Moisture Stain Lipstick in Bondi Beach. In shorthand, I refer to it as the LMdB Lipstick because there are just too many words. It is a mauve-y rose color with a creamy-smooth texture and consistency and a sort of pleasing quality to it that makes it very agreeable to most people and especially agreeable to me, lover of purples and plums and mauves.

I was looking for one shade in the lipstick range to try (because these are expensive at $34 each, yo) and Bondi Beach one called to me the most. Naturally.

The color is very buildable, it took me about three swipes to get this opaque. Below, the left face is a sheer application, while the right is, um, I guess more “full coverage.”

I’ve worn this a couple of times, and those are two examples of when I did. I know I don’t look happy in either (DEAD IN THE EYES), but maybe I’m just mad that I don’t have any more of these.

P.S. Good lawd, I have such puffy eyes!

And agh, such a pretty tube. I expect no less from LMdB. ❤

I really like this lipstick, and that's not very helpful to you because it tells you practically nothing about my experience with it. Though I do kind of want to switch out the only lipstick I brought on my trip (Rouge Bunny Rouge's Whim of Mine) and take this instead. “I really like this lipstick” is also not very helpful to me because now I want to buy more shades.

You can purchase these online at BeautyBay.com, Zuneta.com, and Nordstrom.com.

I’ve purchased from all three and they have all been exceptional, though I like BB and Zuneta a lot more just because Nordstrom ships from everywhere so sometimes I have to pay more than once to claim items that are part of a single order. I think that’s helpful to note, so you’re welcome.

    • I LOVE LMDB! It’s so annoying though, that they cost so much, LOL. I’m so sad I missed out on the Melange palette from Spring 2013, but then I have too much makeup anyway.

      • haha yea, i haven’t really read that many reviews on it! and I haven’t really heard many raves on it :/ So i think you’re ok! Get a kaleidoscope or some singles, haha!

      • I actually have two kaleidoscopes (Northern Lights and Silk Road) and a single (Alexandrite) already 😀
