Here is a collective haul, most of which are items that I will be reviewing for the next few weeks.
Since going on the Makeup No Buy a few days ago, I’ve been seriously surveying my “collection” instead of looking for new things to buy. Here, I have things that I haven’t even tried out so much yet because I have such a huge backlog, still.
I think that pretty much shows you how much I really needed to go on that ban.
I pay for pretty much all of my cosmetics, except for a few sent here and there (trust me, there aren’t a lot of those), and I guess I just wanted my power over my own money back, if that makes any sense. I still do have some items coming to me, purchased before the ban. So it really won’t be so hard, I think. I just can’t purchase anything new for a while, and that’s OK. 🙂
I am iffy about posting hauls, though I do like watching them and reading about them. I’ve posted a few here and there, but I don’t really post all of mine. I just wanted also to say thank you to Sarie who picked these up for me from her trip to the US of A.
From Le Métier de Beauté, I have two lip crèmes—Café Crème and Framboise Crème—a lipstick (Miami), and a GWP she managed to finagle from the SA that consists of a mascara (SEW EXCITED) and an eyeshadow duo called Brown as a Berry.
Miami is not a color I would have picked out normally, but I noticed that online swatches are kind of off for LMdB, especially on Neimain Marcus and Bergdorf Goodman. It’s very different from what I would usually go for, which is also why I thought to buy it. I think I like it a lot, though. Here I am, wearing it:
From Hourglass Cosmetics, Sarie got me two Ambient Lighting Powders—Ethereal Light and Mood Light—which I reviewed here, and the Mineral Primer, which I am still testing out.
I was very wary about purchasing cosmetics by this time on her trip, but I couldn’t let go of the thought of not having this Blush-Up Brush by Illamasqua. So, yeah. Brattiness prevailed.
And that’s it for Sarie’s mule service! I sent her a looooong list and I’m surprised I didn’t drive her crazy—because these requests came in trickles—even if she spent over the money I gave her. (Don’t worry, I paid her back.)
As for the MAC items, I was browsing online and made an impulse buy late one night, and here are the items:
I have a Mineralize Skinfinish in Lightscapade, which I think is a repromote that came out as part of the Hayley Williams collection, a Mineralize Lipstick in Elegant Accent, and a blush from their Extra Dimension collection called Fiery Impact.
These aren’t technically cruelty-free since they sell in China, and presumably test there. I’ve been having a hard time resisting MAC, I’ll be honest. Anyway, I bought these items from Carefreeshopper.
So that’s what I’ve been doing during my idle time. Now you know why that No Buy was necessary. Le sigh. I feel like that guy who makes YouTube videos, unboxing all the orders his wife makes and is honestly kind of a douche about it, only I’m the sighing guy and the overspend-y wife.
So far, my irresponsible use of my credit card has made me sad enough to not be sad (!) about this ban. Mind you, I don’t technically overspend, because I’m not in debt, but I’m not helping out my future self either.
Anyway, that’s that. This was supposed to be a fun haul post, but I am not so sure this shotgun splurging is going to be any fun at all in the long run. I’m just happy that everything here is awesome, as far as I can tell, and there haven’t been any big regrets, really.

I hope I can make myself stop buying makeup too, at least, for some months… 😦 I am so undisciplined, and reading/watching product reviews makes me want to buy more… Gahh!
Haha I just pause and take a few seconds or minutes trying not to want stuff whenever I see something I like.

Great haul! 🙂 I’ve banned myself from buying too much makeup lately too. Haha. It’s going on fine. Whenever I want to buy one, I just think of those that I haven’t used yet and how I need to finish them all before they expire. :))
