I saw this tag over at Cosmetic Caitlin and thought it would be pretty fun! I don’t own a lot of drugstore makeup, because I tend to give them away to people when I don’t like them or they don’t work for me. I think it’s also because I decided to go cruelty-free and didn’t really get a chance to try a lot of drugstore makeup. (Most of the brands here are not CF.)

1. What is your favorite drugstore makeup brand overall?
Counting non-CF brands, I’ve got to say Revlon. My favorite cruelty-free drugstore brand is Snoe Beauty, and Wet n Wild.
2. What are your favorite face, cheek and lip products?
— Face: L’Oreal Lucent Magique Liquid Foundation in G4 or N5, Physician’s Formula Youthful Wear Cosmeceutical Youth-Boosting Powder in Matte Translucent
— Cheek: Revlon ColorBurst Mineral Blush in Roseberry
— Lip: Revlon Lip Butter in Sugar Plum, Maybelline Color Whisper in Lust for Blush, Maybelline ColorSensational Lipstick in Refined Wine
3. Least favorite product?
Most of the e.l.f. eyeshadows I’ve tried, their liquid eyeliner (it creased on me!) and their eye primer.
4. What is the best makeup bargain?
Wet n Wild eyeshadows, NYX in general, essence, L’Oreal Infallible eyeshadows, Maybelline Color Tattoos, and Fanny Serrano eyeshadows! I also really like the Marionnaud brushes.
5. What is your favorite underdog product? (Something you love that often gets overlooked?)
essence liquid eyeliner, Wet n Wild eyeshadows (at least where I’m from!), Fanny Serrano eyeshadows, Marionnaud brushes.
6. A drugstore product that is overpriced?
The price point of Revlon and L’Oreal in Manila is insane. The foundations are almost $20.
7. Show your best drugstore dupe(s)!
I actually don’t have a lot of dupes but I do have the famous MAC Satin Taupe vs. Wet n Wild Nutty and MAC Naked Lunch vs. Wet n Wild Walking on Eggshells Eyelid eyeshadows. Though they do not look too much like dupes on me:
8. Drugstore product that isn’t worth the hype?
I don’t particularly like the L’Oreal Shine Caresse, also the e.l.f. liquid eyeliner.

Revlon and Loreal foundation for $20!? Not worth it. This post would be hard for me to do though I could like of a few lip products and mascaras that I love.
I agree, but insanity, right?? I hear it’s worse in Australia. ;_; I think if you’ve “graduated” from drugstore, it would be a bit hard to go back, but I agree there are a few good things one could find there. Especially mascara. I can’t can’t can’t seem to spend on high-end mascaras. I always think “Well, I could get an eyeshadow for this…” Hehe.
I love the maybelline color whisper in lust for blush as well! So pretty 🙂

Oh, I really like elf eyelid primer! 😉 One of very few things from elf I would consider repurchasing.
Hey, do you have a post about Marionnaud brushes? I just recently found out we even have the store (I got two of my Chanel lipsticks from there, yey!) and they sent me birthday discount check, I would love to try some brushes. Any recommendations?
I think I may have tried a bad batch, it had barely anything in it!
I don’t have a post on those yet, but I’m working on one for the future. I particularly like N°37, N°38, which are eye brushes, and then N°32, which is an angled blush brush. I haven’t tried a lot of their other brushes, but I know a bunch of people don’t like their foundation brushes, if I’m not mistaken.
You know what? I did a bit of googling for Marionnad brushes and I’m confused 😉 I believe it’s originally a french store and brushes listed there are not that cheap (€10-20). But then again, when I searched for reviews, a lot of prices came up with php and those are really budget-friendly (with exchange rate applied, €3-6)! Maybe you guys get some special deal there?

I’m not very conscious of each brand’s identity but I do love drugstore brands in general 🙂
I wanna love drugstore, but I caaaan’t. We don’t have a lot of CF options here yet. 😦
i don’t love any one brand from the drugstore, but i do think there are some good products. the revlon photoready bronzer with the coral pattern is quite nice, and i love loreal infallible eyeshadows. Maybelline color tattoos are good as well, and i love rimmel scandaleyes liners. 🙂 i also like the maybelline color whispers!
I know, there doesn’t seem to be a single brand who has the best products for all the “categories”! I super want to try that bronzer now, though, LOL.
