One of the things I was most excited about from the BDJ Box last month was the Beach Hut Clear Spray Sunblock* which is an aerosol sunscreen with SPF 75++. A lot of people were disappointed about getting this, since we are easing our way into the rainy season, but I am a firm believer in slathering one’s self in sunblock anyway. The clouds can’t be your sole protector, you know!
Anyway, this is great for a number of reasons. One, it doesn’t smell like coconut. Two, it doesn’t leave you feeling lotion-greasy. There is a slight “oiliness” upon application, but that fades away after a while. Three, it’s waterproof and sweat-proof, and four, it has UVA/UVB protection so all the bases are covered by a generous SPF of 75. There is no white cast either and the spray applies and dries down translucent.
You can tote this around for easy reapplication because the spray has a top that locks it shut to prevent messes in your bag.
Beach Hut is cruelty-free and made in the Philippines, too. Yup, you heard right. This is a local brand. They have a great range of other products, too, like sunscreen for your hair/scalp.
I think the only downside for this may be that since it’s an aerosol spray, you can’t exactly bring it on a plane ride.
* I received this item inside a subscription box sent for editorial consideration. I was not compensated to write this review. Beach Hut is cruelty-free.
Wow! This is cruelty-free, AND local? Amazing! The products from Beach Hut really look like they’re foreign.
I think their brand design and packaging were designed in the US 🙂
They really don’t let aerosol bottles on planes? I know they’d never let you carry one into the cabin (specially nowadays), but I’ve packed hair styling foam and deodorant sprays in the check-in suitcases plenty times, no one cared 😉
Ah, I’ve never tried to risk it!
