Quickie: Make Up Store Lipstick in Redwood

Make Up Store - Lipstick - Redwood - Tube

I don’t have a lot of nude lipsticks because I feel like they wash me out, but this Make Up Store Lipstick in Redwood is strangely a great pale pinky nude lipstick for me. At first I didn’t want to wear it a lot because I felt like it was too light but it turns out, I just have to get a bit used to it.

It actually has some mauve-y quality to it, but it’s definitely more pink than mauve or lavender on the lips. I think it’s a great companion for bolder eye looks like a good ol’ smoky eye or something that makes use of brights like this one using Addiction’s Deep Forest:

The texture is pretty great. It’s a “creme” finish and glides on nicely. Comparatively, it feels a lot like the Revlon Super Lustrous Lipsticks, or the MAC Creamsheens, but it doesn’t apply patchily as I find the Creamsheens do. It’s definitely not weightless, but it isn’t heavy either.

Weirdly, this is how it looks like on the Make Up Store Website:

Am I confused? Very.

I would definitely consider getting more shades of this line. Unfortunately, I find their animal testing policy a bit vague. Also, their lipsticks retail for much more than MAC’s, so I don’t know how I feel about that. In any case, this one I got is really nice and if you are currently on the fence re: Make Up Store products, I’ll be the first one to say that they are pretty awesome.

  1. It looks practically peachy on your lips! So different from the bullet!!

It looks very subtle and pretty on you. It really does make a very flattering nude.

  2. Love it but that picture doesn’t match at all LOL, don’t like it when websites do that though.. :/ google images is a girl’s best friend these days.

    • I know! This is why we get suckered into reading blogs! Haha they’re reliable, at least for swatches!
