Lip Things from Laala

I got a bunch of lip products from that swap with Laala, and I thought I’d give a short p/review of sorts for each in this post. Here are the lip products, swatched on my arm:

Laala - Lip Stuff - NARS Niagara, Dior Lip Glow, Tarte Bold, MUA Runway, Vaseline Aloe Lip Therapy - Swatches
Swatched, L-R: NARS Satin Lipstick (Niagara), Dior Addict Lip Glow, Tarte Pure Performance Lipstick (Bold), MUA Power Pout (Runway), Vaseline Advanced Lip Therapy (Aloe)

NARS - Niagara
First up is the NARS SATIN LIPSTICK IN NIAGARA, which is actually a sort of hand-me-down from her. She said she couldn’t get it to work on herself, but when I saw swatches online, I knew it was the sort of color that’s right up my alley. 🙂

FOTD - Mint - Face 1

NARS describes Niagara as a “pink-based coral,” and it’s my first satin lipstick from NARS. It’s a beautiful light coral that’s perfect for spring. Here, I’ve paired it with a neutral eye with a mint accent.

Dior Addict - Lip Glow

Next up is the DIOR ADDICT LIP GLOW. I was confused by this product at first. Is it a prepping product? A lip primer? A balm? I still don’t know what it is exactly—”Color Awakening Balm” is a little strange for a product description—but I love how it makes my lips feel and it has become a fast favorite.

It’s not very slick, but it moisturizes the lip and imparts just a hint of pinky coral goodness that brings your lips to life. It’s a “customized balm” that enhances the natural color of your lips. Think of it as a true MLBB, tailored to you. It’s great to wear on its own and under another lip product.

Tarte Pure Performance Lipstick - Bold

Next up is the TARTE PURE PERFORMANCE LIPSTICK IN BOLD, which is a beautiful color. It looks pretty natural and rosy in the tube, a completely unassuming color, but when you swipe it on—BAM! Just a full-color, opaque layer on your lips.

Tarte - Bold - Face

The formula is beautiful and the finish is satin-y. It’s not weightless on the lips, but the longevity is quite nice, too. It’s a rather statement-making lipstick, which I think I’d love to wear more these days. It’s spring everywhere else, but it’s the middle of summer here, where I live. I think it’s a perfect bright lip that’s not too out there.

MUA Power Pout - Runway

Next is the MUA POWER POUT IN RUNWAY, MUA’s offering to the chubby crayon gods. It’s a beautiful sheer shade, which I was first scared of because of the case! Turns out, it’s quite wearable.

MUA Runway

The formula is glossy and sheer, with more slip than the chubby crayons I’m acquainted with. They’re not that balmy, either. I’m not used to such a warm shade for the lips, but now’s as good a time as any to give it a shot. 🙂

Vaseline Lip Therapy - Aloe Vera

Last, but not the least, is a pot of VASELINE LIP THERAPY IN ALOE. I love aloe, and I love va-a-aaaaaa-seline, so this was pretty perfect. I have a few pots and tubes of lip balm that are currently open right now, but I couldn’t resist this one. Because ALOE. ❤

All in all, a great bunch of products, most of which I've never tried before. I think my favorites are definitely the Dior Lip Glow and the NARS lipstick. I love all of them, but those are pretty perfect choices for me.

  1. Wow @ Tarte’s packaging! It makes me giddy just looking at it. Chubby crayons *are* the shit. Where do you suggest I begin with them?

    • AH! I’ve never been a big fan of the chubby crayons (I like some!) but my “budget” option are the Happy Skin ones, and my fave splurge option are the NARS lip pencils. Those don’t twist up, though, so you have to sharpen them 😦

  2. I’d wear ALL the lip shades here, but I suppose that wouldn’t surprise anybody! I used to own Niagara, but ended up giving it away because the formula is “just fine.” I hope NARS fans won’t pelt me with stones, but out of all the NARS lippies I’ve tried (I haven’t tried A LOT though), only their Satin Lip Pencils have won me over 😉

    • :D! They totally look like Sunny lip colors! I think their best formulas are actually the pencils (so, with you right there) and the Pure Matte Lipsticks! I find their normal lipstick range to vary in quality depending on the shade. I love Niagara’s tho, but I’m not too picky/particular with lip formulas. 🙂

  3. Dior Lip Glow is definitely an all in one kind of product, I also love it for it’s SPF 🙂 Lasts forever and takes on a sheer pink tint? I love it too. Niagara has been on my wish list forever but now I’ve definitely added that Tarte lipstick… That one is gorgeous! From your first swatch I was sold on it, then you mentioned rosy and I hit that point of no return. Hahaha. It’s also on my wish list now.

    • I know, how does it stay there for so long? :0 It’s miraculous! Hahaha the Tarte lipstick is very nice, glad you like it from this post, and I hope you enjoy it as much as I do when/if you end up getting it 🙂

  4. I’m really glad you liked all of these products. I realise my parcel was a little lip-heavy, but I guess you know where my weakness lies now? 😛 I’m also so chuffed that you are happy with that NARS lipstick. I really hated that it went to waste on my dressing table!

    • Watchumean girl, like to this blog?? Meet na nga kasi tayo~!

Haha ganda talaga ng Niagara T^T

  5. Great picks! But I find Tarte Pure Performance Lipstick (Bold) the prettiest among these. I super love the color for I find it sexy on lips.
