One of the products I was most excited to have received was the Migabee Honey Pureberry Oilsoap.* It removes makeup, dirt, and oily ingredients, and can be used on the face, hair, and body.
This product reminds me of castile soap like Dr. Bronner’s, which is used for several uses and is made of olive oil, because it is also multipurpose. Since most of the writing on the bottle and site itself is in Korean (or Hangul), I went to a lot of websites for more information that I could understand. This “oilsoap” has lauric acid as the second ingredient, which is found in coconut oil, laurel oil, and in palm kernel oil (not palm oil).
I’ve been using organic honey as a light cleanser for the face in the morning, so I’m pleased I got this variant because I know that it works for my skin type. It also contains cranberry, blueberry, blackberry, and raspberry fruit extracts.
First of all, I love how it smells, so I have no problems using only this product for hair, body, and face. Second of all, it’s very useful for traveling or cutting down on the products you use because instead of at least 3 products, you only have to use 1. It comes in this big bottle, too.
Makeup swatches before & after cleansing with Migabee Honey Pureberry Oilsoap:
Swatches are Happy Skin’s Moisturizing Lippie, ILIA Beauty Tinted Lip Conditioner (which stains like a mofo), Dolly Wink Liquid Liner, Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil.
The oilsoap took the swatches off without a hitch. Like I mentioned earlier this week, I use oils to take off my makeup, so I was keen on seeing how this fares. Here are the instructions I found:
- Facial Cleanser & Body Cleanser & Shampoo
After moistened with water, please use the appropriate amount of ease. - Makeup Remover
After applying the proper amount of face to relieve dry, then rubbed with clear make-up and impurities, generated dampened with water bubbles Please washing lightly - Bath
relieve moderate to take a bubble bath, please use
It’s hard to understand, still, but for use as a general cleanser, one must moisten the skin, unlike what’s done with most oil-based removers that require dry skin prior to application. I found that this makes it easier for the product to froth up.
I used this as a shampoo and a body, and face wash and I liked using it for all those! I found the watery consistency a bit annoying to use for the body, because you can only cup so much product in one hand, but I do like how bubbly and foamy it is, and again, I love the smell! It’s a great gentle face cleanser, and an excellent makeup remover (it removed all my makeup!), though I am careful not to have it in direct contact with my eyes. It stings a little but goes away after a good rinse with cool water. It didn’t leave my skin dry, though I think I would follow up with a hair oil or conditioner when I use this as a shampoo if I want my hair to be shiny.
Ha, this is my clean morning face after using the oilsoap!
Since not a lot of information can be found on Migabee, I tried to gather as much information as I could understand on the official website. There is a lot of information in Hangul, but after much digging, I was able to find its animal testing policy (they are cruelty-free and listed on KARA!) and several patents such as their bee venom patent and an Ecocert for natural and organic cosmetic standards.
Ingredients: Water, Lauric Acid, Myristic Acid, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Disodium Cocoamphodiacetate, Glycerin, Sorbitol, Potassium Hydroxide, 1,2-Hexanediol, Vaccinium Macrocarpon (Cranberry) Fruit Extract, Euterpe Oleracea Fruit Extract, Vaccinium Angustifolium (Blueberry) Fruit Extract, Rubus Fruticosus (Blackberry) Fruit Extract, Rubus Idaeus (Raspberry) Fruit Extract, Sapindus Mukurossi Fruit Extract, Honey Extract (5000ppm), Propolis Extract, Bee Venom, Fragrance, Citric Acid, Disodium EDTA
This is probably my favorite product from the box, so far… Actually, it’s a pretty great box in general! It’s available to ship to certain countries here, via Qoo10, for S$29.11 or $23.28. I’m going to hoard these in Korea!

You have such beautiful skin!! This product sounds amazing, wonder of it’s available in my country. The packaging reminds me of Khiels.
How do you use honey as a cleanser? Straight or with something added?
Aw, thank you so much! 🙂
Straight honey on dry skin, I leave it on for about 10-15 minutes then wash it off. It’s surprisingly very, very easy to wash off with just water. 🙂
