Just a quick Harry Potter post today. I wasn’t going to put anything up because I’ve been trying (and clearly failing) to post less frequently. Anyway, it didn’t seem right to post so many non-Harry Potter things on my self-imposed Harry Potter Week, so I thought up a fun post!
Harry Potter is known for Hogwarts and Hogwarts is known for its housing system. Basically, the school segregates you into “houses,” according to your basest of personalities and deep-seated traits. There are four houses and I’ve got four red lipsticks to match to them. Now, I’m not looking for trouble. Feel free to disagree with my designations. These are only four red lipsticks in the world of red lipsticks, and these selections are just based on my own opinion. Please feel free to chime in and declare a red lipstick your own pick for a Hogwarts house.
For Hufflepuff, characterized by their kindness, loyalty, and hardworking nature, I chose Chanel Rouge Coco Shine in Antigone, which is a sheer pinky red. To me, it looks like a friendly lipstick that is easy to get along with if you’re new to reds.
For Gryffindor, which is a house known for its brave (often reckless) inhabitants, I picked a true, bold and brave red, Le Métier de Beauté Hydra-Crème Lipstick in Signature Red.
For Slytherin, which houses the cunning and ambitious students, I picked a vampy, purple-red, THREE Glam Touch Lipstick Color in Edith’s Whisper.
For Ravenclaw, who are known for their brains, wit, and creativity, I picked out a fun and bright orange-red, NARS Semi-Matte Lipstick in Heat Wave. I was going to pick a rather stuffy color, then I remembered Luna. 🙂

I think I’d go with MAC Lady Danger for Gryffindor, since they’re always looking for trouble!
I don’t have that. 😦 LOL I got Heat Wave instead, and originally picked it out for Gryffindor, actually!
I’m not even a huge Harry Potter fan but I definitely enjoyed this. Correlate anything with makeup especially lipsticks and I’m all over it! 😀

I love your Harry Potter posts! Hmm, I might pick a hardworking (i.e. long-wearing) red for Hufflepuff. A NARS Matte Lip Pencil, maybe? Come to think of it, all the houses could be covered by the Matte Lip Pencils: Cruella for Slytherin, Dragon Girl for Gryffindor, Red Square for Ravenclaw, and maybe Walkyrie for Hufflepuff. Does that count as red?
I don’t think I’ll ever get over Pottermore sorting me into Slytherin, but I must say, I love my vampy purple-reds. 🙂
