ColourPop Lippie Stix: Feminist & Lumière

ColourPop Lippie Stix Feminist Lumière

I got two of the ColourPop Lippie Stix to try over the Black Friday/Cyber Monday sale, namely Feminist and Lumière. I’ve been seeing this brand all over the Internet, mainly YouTube, and you know I can’t resist a hype, especially if it comes with a $5 price tag.

Everything ColourPop sells is priced at $5 each, though from what I understand, they contain considerably less product than usual (e.g. the Lippie Stix have 1.5g and the MAC lipsticks have 3g).

The packaging is white with accents that match the shade. The lipstick comes out of a slanted tip, though precision is a little tough with this type of packaging.

Feminist is a little patchier than Lumière and goes on a bit shiny before settling down into a matte finish. These feel a little tacky on the lips, but nothing too obvious, and they last really long for me.

I love Lumière for an everyday lip with a bit of a punch. It’s Kathleen Lights’ collaboration with Colour Pop and she claims it’s very close to the NARS Audacious Lipstick in Anna, which I’ve been wanting but never ended up getting. (Yet?) I feel like it clashes a bit with my skin tone? Or I never know what eye look to pair with it.

Feminist is a beautiful dark purple that can look almost black. I love this statement lip, but I realized it’s a little close to an OCC Lip Tar I just bought a few months ago called Pagan. If you’re building your collection or have a weird attraction to a particular color you don’t think you’ll be wearing often, it’s worth peeking at ColourPop.

I do like these lipsticks (ugh, Lippie Stix is the worst name), but I have way too many already to get any more. I do have my eye on a few more of them, but like I said: restraint!

Have you tried ColourPop?

  1. Weird, on your swatch, it doesn’t look like Anna at all. It doesn’t have enough mauve. From my screen, it looks closer to MAC Please Me.

  2. Oh no, I want the Feminist one just because of the name of the color! Haha, I’ve never tried having makeup shipped from abroad though—I don’t trust the post office!

    • Hahaha that caught my eye because of the name… Predictable! They don’t ship to the PH, I went through a forwarder 🙂

  3. I love that they have some really obscure shades and also a great selection of thoughtful neutral shades. The fact that they’re made by a lot of youtubers and bloggers is also a nice touch; especially since the youtubers that they have collaborated with are some of the more ‘real’ or relatable ones

    • Yep, I absolutely know what you mean! It feels like they reached out to the ones they themselves enjoy watching 🙂
