This is a pretty late post of the April BDJ Box*, I don’t know if you’ve noticed! I think that it’s because I thought that it was a little bit of a “lackluster” box. Although it’s a pretty packed month, I feel like for the most part, people subscribe to these boxes with an expectation of something special. So, regardless of the total value that the box comes out to—in this case, Php 1608 as per Tellie’s calculations, or over 3 times the initial Php 580cost—people are bound to get disappointed if they don’t get “special” items. Even if it’s full of useful products.
There’s also the issue of “randomness.” This month’s box has a theme, Spring Into Beauty, the products in it don’t seem to really appeal to that theme.
MyChoice Pure Herbal Soap (Php 55, 100g) — I like soaps, I’m not too picky about them, but I do like these types of soaps more than the standard fare available in supermarkets. The one I got has milk!
Asian Secrets Lulur Whitening Facial Scrub (Php 120, 100g) — I love face scrubs, but I’m pretty happy with the ones I have now, so I’m ambivalent about this one.
Asian Secrets Lulur Whitening Body Scrub (Php 15, 20ml x 5) — I don’t like packets, so I’m really hoping I’m motivated enough to give this a shot, since it’s supposed to be amazing. I also don’t like whitening anything—except maybe toothpaste and underarm products—but I doubt it’ll whiten my skin considerably, so there’s that.
Mustela 2 in 1 Hair and Body Wash (Php 520, 200ml; only received sample) — a tear-free, soap-free cleanser for the hair and body. Would’ve been more excited about this if it wasn’t a packet.
Mustela Hydra Bebe Body Lotion (Php 790, 300ml; only received sample) — I tried this out before and found it to be too heavily-perfumed, but it worked well enough.
MyChoice Hand and Body Lotion (Php 70, 100ml) — Another “okay, but…” product. I have the goat milk variant.
MyChoice Anti Acne Cream (Php 350, 20g) — I tried this on a pimple that was forming and it was considerably smaller the next day, so yay.
FS Cosmetics Lash Extravagance Mascara (Php 625, 9g) — This is pretty expensive for mascara, which makes me think that they messed up the prices on the cards and this is actually the one that’s on sale for Php 60 and the Revlon Highlighting palette’s the one that’s priced at Php 625. Anyway, I’ve got a love-hate thing with mascara, so I wasn’t too terribly excited by this.
I set aside the ones I’m most excited by and here they are:
MyChoice Bubble Shower Salt 2-in-1 (Php 100, 225g) — I usually prefer a sugar scrub, but I’ve been wanting a body scrub for the longest time, so I’m excited about this. Even if it does have papayas, which I hate. I gave it a little sniff, and it looks like we’re in the clear!
Mustela Stretch Marks Double Action (Php 1750, 150ml; only received samples) — I was excited about this until I saw that it was more of a preventative cream, so I gave it to my cousin’s wife who’s the only person I know that’s preggers right now. She liked it!
Revlon Highlighting Palette in Peach Glow (Php 60, probably mislabeled as such, 7.5g) — I’ve always been curious about the Bobbi Brown shimmer brick, and I think this is a good alternative to try out first. You can use the shades individually, albeit with a small brush, or swirl it all together for a nice highlight.
Tony Moly Intense Care Snail Foot Mask (Php 198, 18ml) — a sheet mask type of thing for your feet! I ain’t gonna lie, my feet are janked, so I’m extremely happy about this.
The bonus item: Tony Moly Luminous Glow Aura CC Cream (Php 1098, 30ml; only received a small packet) — it’s an all-in-one product that has SPF, evens out the skin tone, moisturizes, and acts as a primer.
And that’s that! What do you think of this box?

I’ve been wanting to try the Revlon Highlighting Palette! I’d love to see a review on it! Thanks for the post!
I hate when I am super jacked up for a sub box to come and it’s lame. WAH!
