To cap off the first week of this month’s Special Eye Makeup Feature, I will tackle the issue of brows! This is a very small thing you can do that I feel will enhance your overall look. Honestly, I am pretty low maintenance when it comes to brows. I just kind of shade them in (as you would a blank spot in a coloring book) and call it a day. 1 Quad, 6 Looks: bareMinerals’ The Happy Place

A duo’s a challenge to play around with, but a quad is a riot. One of my favorite ones is bareMinerals’ The Happy Place, which came out as part of their Supernatural Collection (I think). I saw the coral, the aubergine, the mushroom grey, and I thought, “I have to have that.” Nearly a year later, and I have no regrets! I chose this palette because it seems a bit hard to use. I know that people have been warned against pinky shades for the eyes, to avoid the inevitable pink-eye effect. However, this pink, I think, is quite special, and it comes with pretty colors that go well with it. Watch the video for the looks, and a small tutorial at the end! Stash Shopping No. 2

A second week shopping my stash! This is done in an attempt to survey my current makeup babies, instead of looking for more things to buy. Shall we begin? These are the new color cosmetics I decided to focus on this week. I still have a few items in my S.S. box from my Project 10 Pan that I included in last week’s “haul,” like Benefit’s Lemon Aid and the lip products. Mineral Madness Day 4: Nestyr Lingered in Twilight Mist

We made it to Day 4 of Mineral Madness, where I take on the challenge to try to make 7 eye looks with mineral eyeshadow! To address some questions: — nope, I am not using any other mineral makeup besides eyeshadow — BUT, a mineral makeup foundation, etc. post is in the works — a rough guide for mineral n00bs is also in the works, as you guys had some questions for me in the comments — also, I may post more looks but perhaps in the next month or much later For Day 4, I decided to do a very soft look using three eyeshadows, two from Shiro Cosmetics and one from the bareMinerals holiday set, A Vision in Velvet. Here is what I came up with: I made a soft crease gradient with bM’s Satin Mist, which is a sort of light silver grey, with very slight, imperceptible shimmer. It’s pretty matte, actually. Then I patted on Nestyr on the inner two-thirds of my eye. Lingered in Twilight was blended into Nestyr from …

Mineral Madness Day 3: Plums & Hyacinths

For Day 3 of Mineral Madness, where I force myself to use my mineral eyeshadows, I have here a fairly purple look anchored on the very beautiful shimmery lilac by bareMinerals called Hyacinth. Not wanting to take away from the general prettiness of this color, I just used Satin Plum, also from bareMinerals. It is a fairly matte color so I used it in the outer corner of the eye, as well as on the outer crease. I added an eye kohl to my lower lash line, too. It’s MAC’s Prunella. I like it, though I feel like I should have used a deeper neutral like a dark brown instead of another purple. As it is, this has a very 90s feel to it; I can’t put my finger on it, but it may be the general cool lightness of the shadow paired with a milky lip, which makes me think of the frosted lipsticks of the past. Makeup Inventory: Eyeshadow Quads

I’ve been racking my brain for an “eyeshadow special” post that I can do, much like my Lipstick Week, but I can’t think of anything at the moment, so I’m going to show you my collection of quads. 🙂 I LOVE eyeshadow palettes. Those are decidedly my weakness. I showed you my favorite palettes a while ago, and here are all of my quads, aka 4-shadow palettes. I have six in total, clockwise from the top left: Guerlain Les 4 Couleurs in Turandot, Le Métier de Beauté Kaleidoscope Eye Kit in Northern Lights, Suqqu Eyeshadow in Sumiredama, Chanel Ombres Fleuries in Délicatesse, Le Métier de Beauté Kaleidoscope Eye Kit in Silk Road, and bareMinerals READY 4.0 in The Happy Place. The only permanent quads are Turandot and The Happy Place, but a lot of these are still available online and in store. 🙂 Guerlain Les 4 Couleurs in Turandot: This was my first high-end eyeshadow purchase and it remains one of my favorites.
