We made it to Day 4 of Mineral Madness, where I take on the challenge to try to make 7 eye looks with mineral eyeshadow! To address some questions:
— nope, I am not using any other mineral makeup besides eyeshadow
— BUT, a mineral makeup foundation, etc. post is in the works
— a rough guide for mineral n00bs is also in the works, as you guys had some questions for me in the comments
— also, I may post more looks but perhaps in the next month or much later
For Day 4, I decided to do a very soft look using three eyeshadows, two from Shiro Cosmetics and one from the bareMinerals holiday set, A Vision in Velvet. Here is what I came up with:
I made a soft crease gradient with bM’s Satin Mist, which is a sort of light silver grey, with very slight, imperceptible shimmer. It’s pretty matte, actually. Then I patted on Nestyr on the inner two-thirds of my eye. Lingered in Twilight was blended into Nestyr from the outer third of the eye, and then smudged along the outer half of the lower lash line.
Obviously, I didn’t get to do such a good job at matching the eyes, heh. My right eye (your screen left) is a better depiction of the look I was after.
I lined my upper lash line with MAC eye kohl in Teddy, and curled my lashes. And that’s it!
On my face: Physician’s Formula Youthful Wear Cosmeceutical Youth Boosting Powder in Translucent Matte, Shiseido Luminizing Satin Face Color in RS 302, MAC Lustre Lipstick in Jubilee, The Body Shop Brow & Liner Kit in 02, Nichido Clear Mascara
Hope you liked this look. It is definitely cooler and softer than I normally go. Three more to go!
Super loving this series! Looking forward to that tutorial. 😀
Thanks Pat. 🙂
Very soft and pretty:)
Thank you! 🙂
Love this look on you! Soft and linger-ey.
Btw, my Paul and Joe is running out. Thinking of trying out an “in between matte and moist” lipstick, possibly Bobby Brown, in a berry shade. Thoughts?
Thanks!
It’s Bobbi Brown! I haven’t owned anything from them would you believe it! My faves are Chanel (Rouge Allure Velvet), Guerlain, LMdB, and NARS (Sheer range). If you want to try MAC, try the Satin or Lustre lipsticks. Also if you want to look at drugstore lipsticks, try the Revlon Lip Butters, Maybelline Color Whispers, or Maybelline Vivids. or the Clinique Chubby Sticks!
