And it’s time for another round of beauty and skin care favorites! I usually am at a loss when I write this feature (30 days is a long time for the mind to rewind back to, it seems…) but since I’ve been on the road for most of September, it was easy to find things in my small-ish stash that I enjoyed immensely. Here are some of them: One Love Organics Skin Savior Waterless Beauty Balm — this is a makeup remover, cleanser, and moisturizer all in one. It is AMAZING and helped my skin out a lot in NYC where it was breaking out a lot. My sister’s been enjoying using it, too! Indie Lee Squalene Oil — I bought this at Space.NK and wanted to try an olive-based squalene facial oil, because it’s known to be great for the skin. I can attest to these claims. This oil is fantastic and I usually use it on my skin during the day, before I put on my sunscreen/moisturizer. MAKE Colour Soft Focus Foundation — …

Slicking on one eyeshadow on your lid isn’t an entirely new concept for the lazy girl. In fact, before you (we) went off the deep end of the makeup world, that’s what you (we) probably did. So, I’m here to show you some of my favorite singles to put all over my lid when I’m feeling particularly rushed or stumped. Before I begin, here is Liz’s take and here is Bea’s. Here are just a few… by which I mean, most eyeshadows will work for this purpose anyway. I love the type of shades that actually have dimension, though, and these ones are quite effortless to wear. My Favorite Matte Lipstick Formulas

Hey everyone! Before I left for my pretty extended vacation, I thought I’d whip up a post showing you my favorite matte lipstick formulas. I’m pretty picky with lip products, though my stash may not seem like it. I figured out, for example, that I’m not really into very glossy lips or frost finishes. I’m pretty okay with satin or creams, but my (second) favorite kind of lip is a matte one. I think it’s because I have pretty full lips anyway—shininess just exaggerates my pout and not in a way that I appreciate. I know mattes have a reputation for being fussy, so here are my favorite formulas to help you maybe find yours. Now, there are a lot of “matte” lip products that only masquerade as such. Unboxing: Le Métier de Beauté Beauty Vault VIP August 2014

Hi everyone! I’m not sure if anyone noticed (since I’ve queued up a few posts), but I’ve been in the USA since the 13th of September. I haven’t had much time to sit down and make new posts, reply to comments or read blogs, but I’m trying, I’m trying! I haven’t bought a lot of makeup yet—just a few pieces, and skin care—but I have 4 cities in 2 more states to explore. So far, we’ve been to New York, Boston and Stockbridge in Massachusetts, and now we’re nestled in New Jersey. FOTD: Celeste e Verde

Hello everyone! I just wanted to share a Face of the Day feat. the first look I ever attempted with MAKE Colour's Celeste e Verde Palette* (reviewed) because it's such a fun look that totally goes against the fall leanings of the makeup people have been wearing this season. Although I sometimes base my makeup on the Western hemisphere's concept of seasons, I'm not going to let the onset of autumn stop me from wearing pastel blue and yellow eyeshadow! I used Palermo, a pretty canary yellow all over the lid, fading out into the warmer brown, Brick in the outer corner, with Earth (a neutral brown) buffed out into the crease. I used my finger and the NARS Eye Brush no. 3 for the yellow lid shade, and a MAC 217 for the crease and outer corner shades.

Le Métier de Beauté Peau Vierge Correcteur (Medium) // K-Palette Real Lasting 2-Way Eyebrow (101)* // Oslo Cosmetics Eyeshadow (Vela) // K-Palette 1 Day Magic Fiber Mascara* // Addiction by Ayako Cheek Stick (Rose Bar) Et voilà! The fifth 5 Product Face. 🙂 This was inspired in part by the beautiful eyeshadow I used for this look today, which is Oslo Cosmetics' Vela. It's a standard blue-brown duochrome shade, like MAC's Club, or that 2nd Definer shade on the Wet and Wild Comfort Zone Palette. The lowdown: I used the concealer on my under eye darkness, filled in my brows with the lightest shade I have, and slicked on the duochromey eyeshadow all over my lids. I defined my eyes and lashes with this amazing new mascara from K-Palette, and did the cheek and lip with the Cheek Stick. I love multi-purpose products! 5 Things Friday: Magical Products

Since it’s Harry Potter Week here, I decided to pattern my 5 Things Friday on 5 “Magical” Products that I’ve encountered in my brief makeup life. I have skin care and seemingly boring-ish products here, but they’re the things that actually let makeup be exciting because they take care of the basics. Aesop Parsley Seed Cleansing Masque I rotate a lot of skin care products, but this one is a mainstay. This is a great wash-off clay-like mask that just jumpstarts your skin when it’s starting to seem a little weary and dull. I don’t always remember to use this (lazy), but when I do, I always wonder why I keep forgetting about it. Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer I bought this expensive bottle on a whim—serious liquid gold, folks. This just preps and primes my face for whatever else I put on it. I find that it just makes everything look better. This is what I suspect turned me into a primer nut, but even though I’ve met a lot of good ones after this …
