Unboxing: November 2013 BDJ Box*

I got a surprise yesterday—the November BDJ Box! It was pretty heavy, so I assumed there was some type of body lotion or shampoo in there, but I was wrong. Turns out, it was a bath cream! Let me show you what is in the BDJ Box this month. 🙂 The Cream Factory Bath Cream, Php 699 (26 fl. oz.) — This is made from real goat’s milk (from the Netherlands!) and 100% active botanical extracts, and they call it “dessert for the skin.” I’m super excited to try this out since I love a good bath cream, and apparently this product is not tested on animals. (No word on the ingredients, though.) My variant is the one with jojoba, and it smells quite fresh! ZA Perfect Solution Restoring Collagen Cream, Php 345 (3.5 oz.) — This apparently has “7 trillion collagen capsules,” which is hard for me to believe but OK. It targets wrinkles and overall skin condition with an “Intensive Triangle Technology” that works on three levels—promoting firmness, translucence, and moisture retention. I …

Le Métier de Beauté Beauty Vault VIP: September 2013 Box

Surprise! So it turns out I was going to be getting this subscription box, lol. Le Métier de Beauté opened their subs up again and sneaky Sarie got one for me as an early birthday present. UM. AWESOME? Because it was a late subscription, I got the September box first. Here’s what I got! Two True Colour Crème Eye Shadows in Starry Night and Champagne Shimmer. According to the card it came with, True Colour Crème Eye Shadows are “long-wearing, waterproof and resistant to settling into creases. This hydrating, smooth-as-silk formula is incredibly easy to apply and even easier to admire.” Champagne Shimmer: “Use as a hydrating, all-over radiance-enhancing highlighter. Beautiful under the eyebrow, over the cheeks, as well as on the eyelid. Can be used as an eye shadow primer.” Starry Night: “Create a mysterious starry night effect with this smokey crème shadow by applying a thin coat over daytime eye shadows. Perfect for transitioning an afternoon look into an exciting evening visage. Can also be used as a smoky base before layering powder …

Unboxing: BDJ Box for June 2013* & Thoughts on Subscription Boxes

I received my BDJ Box for June a few days ago, but I’ve only gotten around to writing this post now. I edited the pictures on my iPad Mini and am writing this post on the WordPress app. I’m already so tired of typing (because I keep making mistakes!) but let’s see how long I can keep this up. The June box is chock-full of stuff. Let’s see if they’re things that I’d enjoy. First up are three items from the L’Oreal Paris Fall Repair 3x Line: the shampoo (Php 110, 180ml), conditioner (Php 119, 180ml), and hair tonic (Php 259, 90ml). This line is designed to reduce hair fall by strengthening and nourishing your hair. If these look familiar, then you’ve been paying attention! Both the shampoo and conditioner were part of BDJ Box’s L’Oreal themed box a few months back, and they were bigger sizes then. I appreciate the inclusion of the tonic, but there’s just something about getting repeats that is disappointing, even if they are perfectly good products. Next up is …

Unboxing: BDJ Box May 2013*

Hello everyone! I’ve got a video unboxing for the May 2013 BDJ Box. If you recall, I’ve already unboxed a BDJ Box this month, but that was the BDJ Box Elite and I apparently was in for another surprise! Thanks, BDJ Box Team 😀 Here’s the video. I tried to make it as short as I possibly could, so I hope this is short enough. There were a lot of items to fit into the video, so it was a challenge, but a welcome one. I think this may be one of my favorite boxes. BDJ really hit the ball out of the park with this one, since it covered all the bases, pretty much. There is skin-care, makeup (like, a full face, practically!), and a plethora of fragrances to choose from. Interested in your own BDJ Box? You can subscribe in 1-month, 3-month, 6-month, and year-long increments here: http://bdjbox.com/ * This item was sent to me for editorial consideration. I was not compensated for or required to write this post. All opinions are 100% …

Unboxing: April BDJ Box*

For April, BDJ nixed the brand exclusives trend it was on (with Shiseido and L’Oreal) and gave its subscribers a mixed bag of stuff. Right off the bat, I have to say that the box had some heft to it, which sometimes translates to a good box. But, Heavy = Full-Size Products ≠ Good, so let’s see how well BDJ’s April box fared. I’ll list the products as they appear on my box card. This month’s theme is Oh, So Fresh! aimed at getting us psyched for “one super summer.” A bulk of the items will help you keep fresh in the summer months, and the rest are just fun bonuses. Sorry if I don’t have a photography~ set-up. I don’t even have a vanity table, so you get my work desk! 1. Bifesta Age Care Cleansing Lotion — Touted as Japan’s first water-based makeup remover, this mimics the effects of cleansing oils, minus the oil. The enclosed sample is not full-sized, but it’s priced at Php 419 for a 300ml bottle. I’m very excited …

Unboxing: BDJ Box for March 2013*

I was out yesterday and came home to the BDJ Box for March! Exciting. I wasn’t sent last month’s Shiseido bonanza, but BDJ Box has a lot of L’Oreal goodies this month that I’m sure a lot of subscribers would enjoy. OK, a head’s up: this month’s box is hefty. It was so heavy! I put two and two together and figured that they included full size hair products, and I was right! Here are full sizes of the Fall Repair Hair Shampoo (Php 110 for 180ml) and the Full Repair Hair Conditioner (Php 119 for 180ml), which are meant to nourish your hair and make them less fragile. I’m not too picky about hair products, and my hair “rejects” very few variants (the old Dove shampoo, par example), so these were OK things for me to get. Hair fall isn’t really a major problem for me. It was, but I fixed it with the red-capped L’Oreal shampoo. I’ve been using products from their new range—the Ever Strong shampoo and conditioner—which I love. It’s a …

BDJ Box (January 2013)

So, the kind folks at BDJ Box sent over January 2013’s box and here’s a post on what’s inside. First, I must say that they are very speedy. I got this yesterday after providing my information the day before that. The box is smaller than what I thought it would be, from the pictures I’ve seen online. But, that doesn’t mean that it’s not super packed. Because it totally is. The January BDJ box also came with a steno dot grid (!!!) notebook. ❤ Here's an overview of what's inside: PROS: For Php 480 (!) a month, you get a lot of bang for your buck. There’s a a lot in here, both samples and full-sized products and coupons/vouchers. You get to try new things you would never think of picking up. You get introduced to new brands. Instead of spending G’s on new products, you spend Php 480 (!) for a chance to try out several kinds from a wide range of brands. Every month, you get something in the mail, which I like! …
