One Week Naked: Day 4

Hello! This is Day 4. I am determined not to lose interest in this challenge, and I actually had fun with the palette today. I kept the lid light (mostly) and went to town on the lower lash line. This look was done over the NARS Pro-Prime Smudgeproof Eyeshadow Base. (LOL the white stuff on my shirt is the LUSH Dry Shampoo, NOT dandruff, eek.) I first blended Naked into my crease, softly. Then I patted on Virgin on most of the mobile lid. I lightly put Smog on the outer ‘v’ and lightly blended it into Virgin for a soft gradient. On the inner corner, I used Toasted to make this look softer. You can’t really see it that well, but I think that it softened the whole look. I lined my upper lash line with Dark Horse using an angled brush. On the lower lash line, I went in with Smog and kind of smudged it down pretty low. I used Toasted on the inner third. Then, I felt like it was too …

One Week Naked: Day 3

Hello everyone! This post is up later than I’d like, and also features some atrocious photography, lol. I was playing with the colors on my camera and couldn’t really correct it well, and I didn’t get to take more photos because this was taken around 1:30 am, after a Phoenix concert (!!!), about 10 hours after initial application. This, I hope, explains the glistening~ skin, too. So now, it is the third day of my Urban Decay Naked challenge and I am, frankly, pretty bored. I ended up using a colored base (OCC’s Crème Colour Concentrate in Newt) and just a few colors in the palette. Oh, my base: y.e.t. Cosmetics Fill It Up Primer under the NARS Sheer Glow Foundation in Punjab. I used the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in Ginger, too. I set my face with the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Mood Light, which did not get the job done because it is not a setting powder, lol. And then I spritzed my face with the Urban Decay All-Nighter Spray. For blush, …

One Week Naked: Day 2

Day 2 of my Urban Decay Naked Challenge! This time, I went in for the gold! And the dark brown. This was taken a few hours after application—after lunch and a few errands. Face base is NARS Sheer Glow in Punjab over Rouge Bunny Rouge Prelude in the Clouds Aqua Primer. Blush is Revlon Mineral Blush in Roseberry. I primed my eyes with I used MAC Paint Pot in Painterly and fluffed on Naked softly into the crease. I applied Half Baked all over the lid and darkened the outer corner and crease with Dark Horse. Using the same color, I lined about 2/3 of the way into the lower lash line. I curled my lashes but did not put on mascara. On my lips, I have Happy Skin Shut Up & Kiss Me in Crushing on You. It’s weird, it’s a bit warmer than I remember it being, the few times I’ve used it prior to today. Anyway, that is absolutely my ultimate “I’m too tired to think of what to wear” lip color …

One Week Naked: Day 1

I’ve been thinking about this series for a while, but it was Romzs‘ post on the UD Naked 1 that I finally decided to do it: a week of looks from the Naked Palette. I bought this quite a while back, but unlike most beauty nuts, this was not a love affair. I gave it a great review, but I didn’t really use it a lot because I jumped right into the arms of the rest of the shit I’ve been hoarding buying. I’m doing this week-long series on looks using the Naked Palette since I haven’t played with it so much, and I want to truly see what the fuss is about. So, welcome, and this is the first look! I used the NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk as a base. On the inner two thirds of the lid, I have Sin. I have Toasted on the outer third of the lid and on the inner third of the lower lash line. I darkened up the outer corner with Creep and used it …

FOTD: Golden Brown and Toasted

Today’s post is just a quick Face of the Day featuring the Urban Decay Naked Palette. After deciding not to purchase the Naked 3 (for now, for hoarding avoidance), I picked up the original Naked Palette and decided to play around with it. Sometimes, I find it absolutely genius. Other times, I find it quite uninspiring. I think this is a great natural look, though I do find that some of the Naked shadows to be a bit too frosty for my liking. I used the Maybelline Color Tattoo in Bad to the Bronze as a base. I applied it with my finger all over my mobile lid, blended upward around the crease. I used Buck as a transition shade (applied on crease and blended out), patted on Dark Horse on the outer third and blended into Smog which I patted on the inner half. My inner corner highlight is Sin. On my lower lash line, I smudged on Dark Horse (outer half) and Toasted (inner half). For definition, I added Rimmel ScandalEyes Waterproof Kohl …

EOTD: Gradient Eyeliner

An eye experiment—gradient eyeliner! Or ombre, if you prefer that term. It’s super easy, which will probably make this the shortest post ever on this blog. I started in the inner corner with a dark green shade (Urban Decay Mars) and stopped a third of the way in. Then, I used a bright ocean blue shade (Urban Decay Deep End) on the middle third of the lower lash line. Finally, I connect the line to a beautiful blue-violet shade (Urban Decay Ultraviolet), filling in the last third of the lash line. And that’s that! Eye makeup: Le Métier de Beauté Dualistic Eye Pencil in Tamarack as base, bareMinerals READY 2.0 in The Scenic Route, Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Pencil in Perversion, Benefit They’re Real! mascara Rest of the face makeup: BECCA Resurfacing Primer, Burberry Sheer Luminous Fluid Foundation in Trench No. 4, NYX Eyeliner in Taupe, MAC Extra Dimension Blush in Fiery Impact, NYX Round Lipstick in Peony. I hope this post was helpful! Have you tried gradient eyeliner before? 🙂

Testing the Waters with Urban Decay Ocho Loco 2

Hello, everyone! I’ve been testing out the Urban Decay Ocho Loco 2 eyeliner set for about four days now, and I just wanted to share my thoughts. 🙂 This isn’t a full review by any means, but for the most part, I am enjoying this set a lot. That’s saying something, because I am not a big liner girl, since I usually play with my eyeshadow instead. Anyway, the Urban Decay Ocho Loco 2 is one of their holiday sets for 2013. You get EIGHT 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencils, four of which are limited edition shades. Add to that a Grindhouse sharpener, which is celebrated in its own right. I haven’t sharpened anything with that yet, so thoughts on that are on hold. But it’s a really pretty color, and I love that it has a pick thing that sort of deals with the eyeliner/product gunk build-up by near the blades. Here are the initial swatches, from L-R: Roach, Twice Baked, Crave, Perversion, Mars, Deep End, Ultraviolet, and Tornado. These glide on so well and …
