Snoe Beauty: Poudre Phenomenon

The other item I got from Snoe Beauty was the Poudre Phenomenon, a “pore erasing HD powder.” I didn’t get the seemingly more popular Poudre Extroadinaire, which is a “loose finishing skin care powder,” because I thought it was a loose foundation and I didn’t really use foundation! Also, “pore-erasing” was too hard to resist. What is the Poudre Phenomenon? A completely translucent powder that sets foundation and mattifies skin. It will soften the appearance of skin imperfections and fits all skin tones. Oil-absorbing nutrient rich Bamboo Silk & high-grade ultra fine silica powder covers the pores without clogging. Witch Hazel extract controls excess sebum and protects against irritation. Sage extract helps shrink pores. Purefix-DC inhibits acne bacteria. It will stop inflammation and also acts as an anti-oxidant. As you can see, the design of the box is still very visually-appealing. The pot, however, is not. It’s made of plastic and I find that the lid is a bit “kiddie,” even though the blue is from the label. I don’t know. I’m just not a …

Blush Crush: Shiseido Luminizing Satin Face Color in RS302

I didn’t mean to buy any blush. I was just innocently looking for a lip pencil, when this little baby caught my eye. “Is it matte?” I asked. “We don’t have any mattes, but this has no shimmer,” the super nice SA said. Good enough for me. I’d been looking for a rosy blush that’s darker and less shimmery than NARS’ Orgasm, because let’s face it, you transform into a Cullen glitter bomb under yellow light. Although I was highly impressed by NARS’ Sin, I “needed” something warmer and more matte for some non-Sin days. Enter Shiseido’s Luminizing Satin Face Color in RS 302 (Tea Rose)! It’s a dusty rose that looks a bit reddish in certain light. As the name suggests, the this blush has a satin finish so there’s a subtle glow instead of an overpowering shimmer. Tea Rose is the darkest shade of blush that Shiseido offers. The powder itself is finely-milled and applies smoothly. It has really, really subtle shimmer and looks almost matte in the pan. It’s true to color, …

Snoe Beauty: Rouge Deluxe Complete Lip Care in Plum Crazy

I must confess: all these beauty bloggers raving about Snoe Beauty’s Rouge Deluxe lippies and foundation has gotten me very curious about the brand. After a bit of internet sleuthing, I found out that it was a local brand (!) and that got me even more curious. Right after my makeup ban was lifted, I went online and bought some products from their online store. I got my loot after one working day! Because I didn’t want to go overboard, as I am wont to do, I picked two cosmetic products, namely a Rouge Deluxe in Plum Crazy, and the Poudre Phenomenon, which is a “pore erasing HD powder.” For now, let me talk about the Rouge Deluxe! Snoe’s Rouge Deluxe is: an oil-infused rich and creamy lip color in the season’s hottest hues. It will hydrate, nourish, and revitalize lips. While delivering long-lasting color, this product works to smoothen and soften the lips, making your pout extra kissable. edited to only the most fashionable shades, it’s impossible to pick one. Without: parabens, sulfates, synthetic …

December Partial Haul: Shiseido, Maybelline & Snoe Beauty.

In case you didn’t know, there has been a weird sale going on at Watson’s and the Health and Beauty section at SM Megamall. I say weird because it’s been going on for quite a while now, and also because I have no idea what the mechanics are. Just that they all have promos and that I have found it very hard to resist said sales. Last Sunday, I took home a couple of products from Shiseido, which is a brand I’d been meaning to try, and also a mascara from Maybelline, which I have reviewed here. From Shiseido, I treated myself to a “Smoothing Lip Pencil,” a “Luminizing Satin Face Color,” and a “Lacquer Rouge,” which I feel like is similar to Revlon’s Liquid Lipsticks and Guerlain’s Rouge G L’Extraits. I got these products at 30% off (20% + 10% off if I reach Php 1,500). I believe the sale will last until the end of the month, so get on it! From Snoe Beauty, a local brand, I ordered the Poudre Phenomenon, which …

Drugstore Finds: Maybelline’s The Falsies Volum’Express Waterproof Mascara

I’d been jonesing for good black mascara for quite some time now. Mariko suggested the Guerlain mascara, but since I am trying to cut back on beauty purchases, I thought it would be prudent to look for a good enough drugstore brand (for now). I first heard about Maybelline’s Volum’Express The Falsies Waterproof Mascara (phew!) from a video by Ingrid Nilsen, or Miss Glamorazzi. She mentions “The Falsies Flared” mascara in her I ♥ Drugstore Makeup video, but I do believe we only have this variation so I went ahead and got it. The wand is pretty dense and is curved (like a spoon!), I suppose to mimic the eye shape. As you can probably tell, this mascara is after volume. Let’s see how well it fares in that department? No mascara. After 1 layer of The Falsies on curled lashes. After 2 layers of The Falsies on curled lashes. After 3 layers of The Falsies on curled lashes. I wouldn’t consider these results to be akin to applying false lashes… though they do add …

Drugstore Finds: e.l.f. Eye Colors & Falsies

Because Sarie was trying to spend all of the store credit from her Crossings gift certificates, she gave the rest to me after buying a bowl-type of contraption. There were e.l.f. products there so I picked my poison and got a) a pair of falsies (my first!), b) two cream shadow duos, and c) another one of the quad things, like the one I mentioned in my Makeup Starter Kit post. Natural Lash Kit. In the kit are a pair of black lashes and a small plastic vial of glue. This is my first ever pair of falsies and I quite liked them a lot, though they make me look, in my opinion, quite strange and foreign to myself. I suspect that’s because I’m not used to “flirty” lashes, but they are quite cute. The lashes are interspersed in long and short lengths. And it’s fairly easy to apply, though I wonder if this is something I need to trim (I don’t know how to tell). The glue is decent and is easy to remove. …

FOTD: Young Star Yearbook + pre-TNAD

I posted my FOTD for the Tama na ang Drama launch, but what I didn’t say was that that was what I wore to a photoshoot for a Young Star feature. We were told to wear “picnic clothes,” so I stuck to practicality (lol) and wore cargo pants, a nice, breezy white top, and a scarf for, I don’t know, flair or something. Anyway, just posting this FOTD again, because my lipstick choice is more apparent here, in this outtake: Lips: NARS Sheer Lipstick (Vendanges) In case you want to read the write-up, you may do so here.
