Playlist: What face I would wear to the Oscars

In a (tiny) fit of desperation for new non-haul, non-review content, I asked Sarie what I should do (I was going to film a tutorial for a particular look I had posted on Instagram a few days ago), and she said I should do this! It’s a pretty simple look and as it’s past midnight ’round these parts, I skipped the foundation and other face base types. Pardon the redness and spots!

This is what I came up with.

Oscars - Face

It’s pretty simple! I knew right away that I would wear my Guerlain Rouge G L’Extrait in Orgueil. I’m not kidding about right away. Since this beautiful, deep lip color is so intense, I decided to keep the rest of my face simple. Also, my skills are limited to this~ anyway.

Here’s how I did my eyes!

Oscars - Eye

All over the lid, I put on Guava as my lid wash. On the outer third, I patted on Chocolate. I deepened my crease with Coffee Ground and for browbone highlight, I used Vanilla Nuts! All from my Laura Mercier Artist’s Palette for Eyes, shadow palette of my dreamz. I marked the shades I used with an ‘x’ down below.

To line the upper lashline, I used Rouge Bunny Rouge Long-Lasting Eye Pencil in Lola. For mascara, I used Maybelline The Falsies.

Oscars - Laura Mercier

Oscars - Stuff I Used

For the rest of my look, I used these. I groomed my brows using the darker powder from The Body Shop’s Brow and Liner Kit (02). I lightly dusted my cheeks with Chanel Joues Contraste in Frivole, then did light contouring with Tarte’s Amazonian Clay Matte Waterproof Bronzer in Park Avenue Princess. Again, the lip color is the L’Extrait by Guerlain in Orgueil.

I hope you enjoyed this super quick post! If you have any Oscar looks, I’d love to see them. 🙂

    • Right? It carries itself. ❤ I don't think I even have to do anything else to my face. I just put this on and I'm done!

Thank you! I have been going back and forth on getting my brows done again, but I think I like it better when they're not so angular. 🙂

The lipstick color is beyond beautiful! Wow! I love a red lipstick! Like how it complements your skin tone. That eye palette looks very nice as well… 🙂 Vera

  2. Lovely lip shade! And don’t mind the spots. I think when you wear a bold color, it’s best to keep the rest of the face natural. I like a few imperfections here and there. My personal thing is to wear red lipstick and let my eyebags hang out in all their glory. (Feeling French ako.)

    • Thanks! 🙂 I was looking through my blog pictures and I think I actually prefer my face without foundation! Too soon to tell, though haha.

OK lang mag-feeling basta dala naman hahaha

  3. i love your eyes!! ❤ i'm really regretting not buying this Laura Mercier palette, it's so pretty!

Damn you, Carina. This post + 30% off Guerlain at Rustans today meant that I had no chance to resist. NO CHANCE. And now it literally has my grubby fingerprints all over it.

    • I basically ignore all of Jean the SA’s texts, lol. If you’re looking for a nice neutral, Avarice is good, too. But anyway! If you end up getting Orgueil, you will not regret it. Seriously. Everyone I’ve met in this lip color complement it~

  5. ahhhh that laura mercier palette!! Why do i not have it!! oy i bet it is all sold out here now. i forgot that’s what i needed to go to sephora to look for!

    • Yikes! I hope you can find it somewhere. I know it was a Sephora exclusive but I found it at my LM counter and pounced on it. We don’t have Sephora here, lol. So that is one of my best rash decisions, at least in beauty.

  6. Hi Carina! I suuper love your blog! Love, love your reviews and you also take amazing photos! Followed your blog in Bloglovin! ❤
