Project Pan: Going Cruelty-Free

Project 10 Pan - CF

Project 10 Pan was created by lollipop26 on YouTube as a way for her to purposefully use up 10 items in her collection that are near to being used up, before buying any more makeup. Since I am on a No Buy until the end of November, and am trying to go cruelty-free, I think this is the perfect opportunity to do just this.

I’ll start with 10 items from companies that test on animals. I’m quite happy as I had a bit of trouble finding these items in my collection, as a lot of them are cruelty-free. 🙂

Also, I’m concentrating on the items that have been in my collection for a long time as opposed to items that I’ve nearly used up. I was thinking of adding the Revlon Lip Butter in Sugar Plum in here, but I am rationing it, as I will not be repurchasing it until Revlon revises its animal testing policy.

Anyway, here are the items I’ve picked out:

Project Pan - Cruelty Free - Face

L’Oreal Lucent Magique Liquid Foundation (G5 Gold Shell) — This is an awesome foundation and it’s currently my shade match as opposed to my other shade, N5, which has been way too light this summer. It’s great but it’s not CF, so I want to use it up.

Benefit Watt’s Up! — one of my favorite highlighters, but I have a lot of other CF products that work well, too. Watt’s Up! has a cream-to-powder formula that is just pretty amazing, and lends a pretty natural glow. I won’t be repurchasing this until Benefit goes cruelty-free.

Project Pan - Cruelty Free - Eye

Etude House Proof 10 Eye Primer — WHY DON’T YOU JUST VANISH ALREADY? I’ve had you for so long! If you remember, this is the eye primer that I depotted a few months ago.

Benefit Lemon Aid — I used to use this a lot, but I found better primers and the color is a bit too yellow as a base. I’m just trying my best to use this up.

Maybelline The Falsies Mascara — It’s alright. Not really HG material, and I want to use up all of my mascaras that I’ve opened. This is the oldest one I have that’s not CF.

Project Pan - Cruelty Free - Blush

Revlon ColorBurst Mineral Blush (Roseberry) — I love this shade, but it’s not CF and it’s great for everyday wear, especially now in the summer time because there’s a little bit of sheen to it already.

Smashbox Whipped Blush (Dusty Rose) — Thought they were CF but apparently, they’ve changed their animal testing policy to “except when required by law,” so that sucks. This is a unique whipped mousse-y formula.

Project Pan - Cruelty Free - Lip

Revlon Matte Lipstick (Fabulous Fig) — I should just use this up because I’ve had it for forever.

Maybelline ColorSensational Lipstick (Chestnut) — Same as above. I don’t think they even sell this color anymore.

Revlon Lip Gloss (Brilliant Bordeaux) — Whittling down my lip gloss collection (not that I have a lot). This is the most like my Buxom lip gloss in Berry Blast.

Here are swatches of the products I’m hoping I’ll be able to use up:

Have you ever done a Project 10 Pan? Were you successful or did you cave in the middle of it? Let me know and wish me luck! 🙂

Very unique and interesting! I might give this a try myself. 🙂

  2. ive never successfully completed a 10 pan but i wish you all the best of luck!! I totally forgot those smashbox blushes existed… anyway, GOOD LUCK! also, i like the new layout!

    • What do you think would happen along the way? Thanks for the luck! Yeah, I really liked this blush, too. Too bad.

      Thanks! 🙂 Like yours, too.

  3. Ooh, sounds like a fun project! I’ll have to dig through my stuff, but I seem to be using makeup so sparingly, nothing is ever running out! It’s actually pissing me off somewhat, because I do find used up makeup packaging kinda interesting and intriguing and I never get to see it.

“WHY DON’T YOU JUST VANISH ALREADY?” – Love!! 😀

    • Yup, it’s so frustrating isn’t it? I think I really just have to work at it. 🙂 I picked out some items here that I liked so I’d keep using them, too. I noticed that, in other people’s Project Pans, they tend to pick out stuff they hated so they give up eventually. Good luck, if you decide to go on this too!

      LOL it’s so ridiculous, there’s still so much ;_;

  4. I didn’t know Laura created Project 10 Pan! I loooove her. ❤ Anyway, gagaya ako sayo! Haha I have too many foundations, I need to get rid of those na rin!

  5. Kind of sad that the drugstore brands are not CF. Do you perhaps have a list of CF brands that you currently like?

    • Wet n Wild, Physician’s Formula, NYX, Missha (haven’t tried this), and e.l.f. are all CF 🙂

      • onga e, i bet they’re cringing like we are now hehe. Sana a lot of boutiques have contracts that state na they will only sell your products as long as you are CF. Otherwise they can automatically discontinue selling your stuff.

  6. I’m going to have to try out this project. XD Incentive me to stop buying makeup I guess. I don’t think I’ve ever hit the pan for anything (though my MAC Warm Soul is getting there).

    • I’ve NEVER hit pan on anything, but I haven’t been using makeup all that long. But yeah, it’s ridiculous how much I’ve acquired. Good luck!
