And we’ve come to the end of my Japanese Drugstore finds. Sorry this last part took a while. It’s mostly comprised of stuff I got my mom and sister. 🙂
Majolica Majorca Cream de Cheek in RD411 or Kiichigo/Raspberry Cream and RD310 or Coral Cream. These are liquid blushes I got my mama because she’d been eyeing them for a while. 🙂 They come in this packaging, which is like a frosted glass bottle that resembles a nail polish bottle, right down to the applicator:
These seem really complicated to use, but they are honestly the easiest thing in the world. If you know how to apply the liquid highlighters, stains, and whatnot by Benefit, then you’d be a pro at this! First, you put a well-placed dot on your cheeks:
This is a really pretty coral, and it’s called Coral Cream (RD310). This is the first and only one my mom has opened, so this is the only one you’ll see for now. 🙂 After placing the drop, blend it out quickly:
And that’s going to stay put all day! It’s very pigmented, but it’s also easy to sheer it out and build up as you go, as long as it doesn’t set yet. Liz tells ya how to do it here. I love this product and it’s the easiest to use once you figure out how to.
K-Palette Liquid Liner. AKA, my holy grail liquid liner. This is the freaking best. Also, this isn’t the exact product I bought in Japan, since it’s in the limited edition packaging. However, the hoarder in me urged myself to get a back-up, since it was cheaper to do so there.
This is very easy to use, and gives a fine line. It is also fairly water-resistant and does not smudge or melt away or anything like that. Also, it comes away easily when you try to clean up your face at the end of the day. I got my first one in December and it’s still going strong!
I highly recommend this, if you are on the look-out for liquid eyeliners. 🙂
Canmake Cream Cheek in CL02 or Clear Love Song Pink. I blogged about a Cream Cheek I got for myself a while back, which was a red shade in CL01 or Clear Red Heart. I got this shade for my sister, who is fairer than I am and likes pinky cheeks. 🙂
It’s the same dealio! Except my shade suits my skin tone better. Still, these are top-notch cream blushes you should try out if you ever get the chance to.
Kate Gel Liner in Glow Black. The Kate gel liners were some drugstore products I was keen on trying out. I got myself a pot in Matte Black, while I got it for my mom in Glow Black.
Here’s the differences I’ve found so far:
— Glow Black or BK-1 applies easier and seems to be “blacker” than Matte Black or BK-4.
— Glow Black also gave away easier than Matte Black, when I tried to remove it, although both were considerably stuck on my hand for a while.
All in all, there isn’t really much of a big difference, though for the blackest black, I’d go with Glow Black.
My initial review of these was that I didn’t find them to be anything special, but consider this a retraction because these are freaking great.
I hope you all enjoyed this Japanese Drugstore series! You can view my other posts here:
As much as I had fun shopping in Japan, I realized that a lot of their products are not cruelty-free, and that animal welfare doesn’t seem much of a concern with them. K-Palette and Canmake are cruelty-free brands, however, so I’m much more comfortable recommending those in particular.
Thanks for reading and I hope you found these helpful. If you have any questions, feel free to ask them in the comments below.
aaaahhh i love that cream de cheek thing! lovely shade too!
😀 which shade do you have?
I don’t have one haha I love it based on your swatch lang! hehe
Hi! I wondered whether you think the ‘glow’ gel eyeliner by Kate is a slightly glossier finish to the ‘matte’ one? Or does the glow have some shimmer in it? I can’t seem to find a description of the differences between the two eyeliners on any of the Kate or Kanebo websites!
I already posted swatches here, Carla. I don’t have either of the pots anymore (Glow Black was used by my mom so I don’t have ample experience for comparison).
