Funny story, I’d been working on this new series where I kind of poke around other people’s makeup bags for a while now, when I see this post by Romila Marie of Run Barbie Run, where she posts about her sister’s makeup bag. Take a look at her sister’s picks!
For my own edition/version, which I am calling Nosy Beauty, I asked my sister, Isabel, to indulge me and she did! Here’s the stuff I’ve dug up.
Isabel is about a year and a half younger than I am and we’ve shared a room ever since I could remember. She also likes drawing and art, but she took up European Studies with a minor in German Studies and Marketing at University. She blogs over here.
Isabel, or Beng, grew up with bad breakouts and really severe asthma, which caused her undereye area to get really dark. She actually wore makeup regularly earlier than I did, but really focused on perfecting her base.
She uses the shu uemura Nobara Cream Cover Stick and the shu uemura glowing-fit lasting compact, both in 764. For concealer, she uses K-Palette Cover Control 0 Kuma Concealer in Yellow Beige. Isabel also likes the YSL Touche Eclat, but she is saving it because it is expensive. She uses shade 3.
Recently, she’s been wearing eyeshadow, and her weapon of choice is the Urban Decay Naked Basics because she doesn’t really like shimmer. She also likes using a single wash of color all over her lid, and for that she favors MAC Matte Eyeshadow in Soft Brown.
Prior to eyeshadow, she only really used black eyeliner, in varying degrees of thickness and intensity:
The eyeliner in her bag is a Nichido Eye Contour Pencil in 01 Blackest Black.
Isabel prefers pinky blushes. This one, the Revlon Matte Powder Blush in Perfectly Peach is what she mostly uses, and she also filched this from me!
For lips, she likes MAC Lipstick in Media the most (“But I can’t find it!”), but a similar color is the MAC x Archie’s Girls Lipstick in Boyfriend Stealer. She also likes MAC Lipstick in Cosmo, and this lipstick she filched from our mom, Elizabeth Arden Exceptional Lipstick in Smooth Mauve.
For prep work, she also has an eos lip balm in Sweet Mint, and a travel-sized Urban Decay Primer Potion (filched from me).
For tools, she has a regular sponge, three eye brushes from elianto, a paddle brush from e.l.f. and a tiny lip/liner brush from The Face Shop, which she uses to line her eyes with eyeshadow because she says she prefers the way it looks sometimes.
Isabel wants to experiment with different colored eyeshadow-for-liner next.
For kicks, here we are before she went blonde:
Thanks for looking! 🙂 And I hope you enjoyed. Please let me know if you like this sort of thing. I have a list of people planned, and I’ve already asked a few. 🙂
Have a great day!
Aww I super like this post! It’s so sweet how you sisters bond over makeup too. Hee hee :”>
Thanks Jamela Eunice. 🙂
Reblogged this on Ultimate Skincare & Beaute Report, LLC.
Yes please continue this series! Quite interesting! Also, your sister looks good as a blonde. (Not many of us pinays do, tbh).
She’d appreciate that. 🙂 Thanks Pat!
I can’t see it now that she’s blonde, but in the before picture, she looks so much like you!
This is a cool series. Can’t wait to read more. 🙂
People used to think we were twins! 🙂 I’m in the process of asking people, but it’s a little creepy to some of them, I think! Haha.
Carina, you two look super duper alike! As in pinagbiyak na bunga level! ❤ Can't wait to see more! 😀
Thank ya! 🙂 I’m enjoying your series also. You posted the next one so fast!
I think its very sweet of you to feature your sister in a post.
Thanks 🙂
Aww, you both are so pretty!!! I really enjoyed this, do more!!
Aw, thank you! I shall. 🙂
Ahhh what a cool series. 😀 Yeah i’d definitely like to see more of these! Your sister is such a natural beauty. 🙂 Does she get her hair bleached or do it herself?
Yay, thanks! I’m glad. 🙂 Aw, she would be so happy to hear that. She gets her hair bleached (mostly roots touch-up sessions!) because her hair is so thick and she wants minimal hair damage. Haha as minimal as it can get when bleach is involved, anyway.
Looking forward to this series!!!
Thank you, Maelou! I’m glad!
Love this series! Please keep it alive 😀 Also, you two look so cute together.
Thanks, Tellie! Trying to get people to be involved so it can be a regular thing. 🙂
Wow! I like this a lot. I hope you can also feature the skin care routine of your sister and the people you are going to feature. Looking forward to that! 🙂
Thank you! 🙂
As for the skin care routine, I don’t know if I can do that right now, because it would take a bit more on the part of the people I ask, but I’ll see what I can do. 🙂
Lovely sisters! 🙂 Both of you have nice smiles 🙂
happy weekend everyone!
Thank you Elika 🙂 Hope your weekend was happy. 🙂
You look like twins! I am sure she is the one I saw at SM Megamall when you were in Japan. 🙂
She probably was. 🙂

Saw you and your sister at the art fair! I was restraining myself from looking at you cause I might end up staring. (I’ve only seen you online, as a blogger.) I know it was you cause of your bag, haha. Anyway, I got a glimpse of your sister and she’s so pretty! I want to learn her base makeup now.
Also, congratulations! I visited you and your sister’s work.
Pretty no? 🙂 I don’t know what she used then, but most of her base stuff is from shu.
Thank you so much for going to the art fair!
