Quickie: MAC Satin Lipstick in Twig

MAC Twig

Have you noticed that I am slowly trying to feature each MAC lipstick I have? 🙂

MAC’s Twig is a “soft muted brownish pink,” and is a satin finish. The only other MAC Satin Lipstick I own is Betty Bright from the Archie’s Girls Collection. I find this to be less creamy than that one, and it is very similar to another “everyday lipstick” I got, Mehr, which is a matte.

MAC Twig - Swatch

Swatched, you can definitely see how Twig gets its description. I love this color. Really, based on the bullet and the swatch, Twig should be a favorite, but it pulls really dark and pink on me. All of the brown is lost somewhere out there.

MAC Twig Face

I don’t dislike the color. It’s a very nice color. 🙂 I think that the finish has a lot to do with it, for some reason. I have a feeling that’s why I use Mehr a whole lot more; it’s “true to bullet,” so to speak and it’s very what you see is what you get. Twig reacts weirdly to something—probably my lips’ natural pigmentation.

I still like wearing it from time to time. It’s a darker pink that I feel pretty good sporting. 🙂

Fun fact: My best friend, Isa’s mom wore this daily for a while!

  1. I wish it looked more on your lips like how it did on your skin swatch. I agree that it goes a little ‘hot’ or bright on your face. I really wish somebody could pinpoint how this happens. It’s a problem of mine, too.

I haven’t seen this shade before – I mostly stick to pastels but this I think looks quite nice on you. I just convinced my mom to get Girl About Town, haha!

  3. Such a pretty colour! But yeah, it’s a pity it looks so different on the lips. I’ll check it out in the stores to see if I get the same problem.

  4. Where are the MAC Pro outlets in Manila? A friend just asked me to recommend some products for her and I’m trying to compile a list.

    • I don’t think there are pro counters here! We have the pro long wear lipsticks but not even empty palettes, etc.

      • Oh, I see. I just directed her to the general MAC and Bobbi Brown stuff anyways. Thanks so much!
