Quickie: Buxom Stay-There Eyeshadow in Pug

Buxom Pug

I am a Cream Fiend when it comes to eyeshadows, so I pounced on one shade of the Buxom Stay-There Eyeshadow when I saw them online for the first time. Turns out, these are not creams and are more like a mousse-sponge-type thing. Nevertheless, these are pretty great.

Product description: “This bounc-i-licious new eye color offers the ultimate experience with an unexpectedly plush, lightweight texture and vivid color. It leaps and bounds beyond what you’ve come to expect from eye color—and it’s even waterproof. Named after our loyal four-legged friends, these stay-put shades will be your faithful new beauty companions as they comfort and care for your pretty peepers. The mineral-infused, paraben-free formula pampers delicate skin with soothing Aloe extract and vitamin E—all with a non-greasy, long-wearing finish. Touch it. Pet it. Love it. Only at Sephora.”

I got the shade Pug, which is a “smokey pewter,” and is rather pretty. Originally, I had my eye on Collie, a champagne, but I couldn’t say ‘no’ to pug. We had a pug named Gabby when I was growing up. 🙂

On me, it’s a little cool and very sparkly. When applied lightly, it is just a touch pewter and mostly glimmer, but it buildable for a more opaque and obvious base.

I used it as a light wash here, with a darker shadow on the outer corner for depth. I realize that that’s not the best picture or representation, so I took one again for you guys here:

I really enjoy this formula and am looking forward to getting more. It’s awesome because a) Buxom is cruelty-free, b) it’s a great formulation without a bunch of chemicals, and c) with this line, they made a “charitable contribution” for the benefit of highly trained assistance dogs. Which explains all the doggy names. 🙂

  1. I’ve never tried a mousse eye shadow before but I do love cream shadows. They’re perfect for when I can’t be bothered with brushes. Haha

Very cool of Buxom to sponsor a charity. I’m definitely curious about this brand!

  2. I have had my eye on this and Collie, actually! Still haven’t tried them yet, but they sound nice and easy.

    • From this experience, I’d say that they are! I really want Collie, but I’m not sure yet if it’s worth the price. It’s a great product but a bit steep.
