Nosy Beauty Vol. 5: Romila Marie

For this week’s installment of Nosy Beauty, I have Romila Marie or Romsz of Run Barbie Run. Her favorite things to do include blogging, taking photographs, baking cupcakes, and traveling.

She’s one of my favorite local beauty bloggers because of her varied taste in cosmetics. 🙂 Her blog is definitely not a run-on-the-mill sheep blog, and it features a collection of makeup products that are tried and true.

Her beauty philosophy is: “If you don’t have enough time to put on makeup: forget everything else, but never, ever, EVER forget to fill in your brows!”

“Since I like to think that I can actually use up all my makeup, the content of my bag actually rotates every so often. Here’s what inside my makeup bag right now:

For my base, I have the Laura Mercier Silk Creme Foundation in Cashew Beige. It doesn’t last as long as I want it to, but the shade matches me perfectly and that’s all that matters, really. For spots and scarrings, I use the Make Up For Ever Full Cover Concealer in #8. Undereye circles and redness around my nose, etc. are covered by the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in Medium 3. For touch-ups, I use the Maybelline Fit! Me Powder in 210 Sandy Beige.

My no-nonsense blush would have to be ELF in Peachykeen. It’s a light coral pink with gold shimmers – it’s a little chalky but for $3, I can’t complain! It last all day, too! I also have the Topshop Duo in Up In the Air. Topshop blushes are my favorite cream blushes that I’ve tried thus far – last long, has a cream to powder finish, doesn’t break me out and it’s cheap! I got this in Malaysia for 49 RM which is roughly Php650.

I don’t really wear eyeshadows everyday, but if I have to, I have this Lancome quad that I got from a GWP. It has 2 neutrals, 1 coppery red color and a black with silver shimmers – I opt for this because it’s tiny and if I lost it I really wouldn’t care so much. For my brows: I either use the Etude House Drawing Eyebrow Pencil in Dark Brown if I want a natural look, or my favorite MAC Espresso for a more defined eyebrow. I don’t buy mascaras anymore after realizing that I can get them for free (samples or GWPs!) – the one that I currently have at my disposal is the Lancome Hypnose Star Mascara which honestly sucks. But then again I got it for free…

Lipsticks are a big favorite of mine – I actually carry 4 with me. For my everyday shade, I go for MAC Cherish. I also have MAC Captive with me – it’s a beautiful plummy red color, Topshop Lips in Ooh La La which is a bright coral color, and Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet in La Favorite if I want to sport a daytime red lipstick.

I also have a bunch of random stuff with me which includes: a mini Tweezerman tweezer, Tarte Perfecting Face Primer, and a random kabuki brush that I got for Php79 at Landmark. I also have the Alterna Bamboo Kendi Dry Oil Mist which is a God send especially for this weather. When it’s extra humid outside, my hair tends to double its size so I spritz this product on and it just completely tames my hair. It also doubles up as a heat protectant spray!”
