I know I don’t post a lot of drugstore products here; at least, in relation to higher end ones. Here are drugstore lip products that are great for everyday wear. There are seven, so there’s one for each week! I think they’re a great to transition from summer to fall. I’ll talk briefly about these lip products, from left to right.
Soap & Glory Sexy Motherpucker Gloss Stick in Nudist. This is such a beautiful nude glossy pencil that you almost don’t even have to think about slapping on. Great if you don’t want to think about color combinations, and if you’re about to dash out the door.
Rimmel London Kate Matte Lipstick in 101. A beautiful cool pale pink matte lipstick. Great for dramatic eyes and a fun pop of color to pair with everyday neutrals.
Rimmel Apocalips in Celestial. A really light, somewhat brighter color than the rest of this post’s selection. It’s rather pretty and brightens up the face!
NYX Lipliner Pencil in Ever. A pretty midtone brown pencil that you can use as a base lip color under a lipstick or a gloss, or by itself for a matte lip.
Maybelline ColorSenstional Lipstick in Chestnut. I have no link for this lipstick because I don’t think they make these anymore! As you can see, it’s still in the old Maybelline packaging. Chestnut is a beautiful medium color with pretty opaque coverage. It’s a rosy, mauve-y brown, perfect to throw on.
Revlon Super Lustrous Matte Lipstick in Fabulous Fig. This is a warm red with strong brown undertones and a beautiful matte finish. Pull the focus onto your lips with this!
Revlon ColorBurst Lipgloss in Bordeaux. A pretty berry gloss with fine shimmer and high shine. One of my favorite drugstore glosses.
Here are some swatches in the same order:
I hope you enjoyed this post! Let me know in the comments below if you have a favorite drugstore lipstick or two. 🙂
Aaaack! I’ve been wanting to the Soap and Glory gloss sticks! Why don’t we have it locally? Huhuhu
I have the Maybelline Color Whisper (mocha muse), Revlon Lip Butters (juicy papaya) and Wet n Wild Megalast matte lipstick (rose-bud) in rotation.
I wish we had Boots here! Thanks for sharing!
I’m waiting for the Rimmel Apocalips to turn up here as I’ve been hearing a lot of good reviews about it.
Always thought you were based in the UK! In the US, they’ve been released as Show Off Lip Lacquers!
Great post! My favorite drugstore lipsticks are both Audrey Hepburn-related, Fashion 21 Aqualicious lipstick in Moon River and Revlon Super Lustrous in Pink in the Afternoon (which I learned from you actually).
Cool, thanks for sharing!
I love the look of the Apocalips lip gloss but It feels too thick on my lips so I don’t wear it often. I recently got a couple of the Bourjois Shine Edition lipsticks and I love them so much!
Aww, that’s too bad! I usually use a single dip for my entire lip and it feels fine. Thanks for sharing!
I have (or had) Kate Moss in 101 but I hated how it looked on my lips, it was too pale for me so I sold it to a friend. I kept the 111 which is one of my favorite reds because of how it glides so easily.
My drugstore dailies are NYX Round Lipsticks in Paparazzi (I thought 101 was going to be similar to this but I was disappointed) and Revlon Super Lustrous Pearl in Red Lacquer which I think is a great muted red because of its texture that feels somewhat more like a lip gloss than a lipstick?
I like how it looks on me, oddly enough! Thanks for sharing. Is it a liquid lipstick?
It’s actually your basic standard lipstick but it glides on with a flimsy texture–a bit glassy. 🙂
