One-Shadow Eye Looks

For the lazy bones in you! Each look featured here was made using just one eyeshadow. I was going to make a tutorial… but that would be pointless. Just follow the one-step directions and you’ll be fine!

SMOKY EYE — I used Le Métier de Beauté’s Alexandrite, and you can see the tutorial here.

Smoky Eye - Le Metier de Beaute - Alexandrite

WASH & WEAR — Here’s a look that’s pretty similar as well, but you kind of just pat down a shade all over the mobile lid and hope for the best.

Using shu uemura’s ME medium brown 885, aka my favorite eyeshadow:

Using OCC’s Loose Colour Concentrate in Hum:

Using MAC Paint Pot in Rubenesque, a rose gold cream shadow:

Using Rouge Bunny Rouge Eyeshadow in Solstice Halcyon, a light almost imperceptible neutral taupe:

QUICK LICKS — a lick of shadow, a lick of eyeliner, a lick of mascara, and you’re done. This is great for pairing with a bold red lip.

Using Bootycall from the Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette + liquid eyeliner + mascara on top and bottom lashes.

I may actually hate this concealer that I am using in this photo, but you get the idea. I like wearing UD’s Half Baked for a beautiful red lip combo, but this is just an easy look to pair with a red or any other lip color, for that matter, in case you are stumped.

I even just applied it with my finger!

COLOR STATEMENT — smudge on a strong line of color on your top or bottom lash line. Either way, it will make a statement.

Using Laura Mercier’s Deep Night as a crisp liner:

This is kind of a funny picture, but I wanted to illustrate my point. LOL, excuse the pores and unblended concealer. Using bareMinerals’ Statement on lower lash line:

And we’re done! These are easy peasey ways to polish up your look a little if time is not on your side. 🙂 In theory, you can actually do all these methods using only a single, versatile eyeshadow. Which, now that I think about it, might have actually made a better story!

Have you tried any of these ways of wearing a single eyeshadow? Tweet me (@presidents), post on this Facebook page, or email me if you have! I’d love to see them. 🙂

Haha! This is basically my consuelo-de-bobo whenever I finish putting on makeup. I’m such a noob at it and I really just hope it looks reasonable when I go out the door. 😀

  3. I like the lippie you used with LM Deep Night! 🙂 My favorite tamad way to look made up with just one shadow is by using a deep/dark shade (of brown or mauve,) and applying it in the outer corners of my eyes. Then I blend it on the “crease” area, and then I also blend it upwards and outwards. It makes my hooded eyes look a bit lifted. 🙂

    • It’s Buxom’s Berry Blast! 🙂 Yeah, I love that trick! Haha I usually use one other eyeshadow with it, though 😀
