I’ve been eyeing the Flower Beauty line ever since it came out, but I obviously can’t get any of that over here, unless I go through a reseller. In a fit of “need to buy something,” I bought some things—just 3—from the Flower Beauty range, and here are my thoughts on this “Kiss Stick High Shine Lipstick.”
If you are in Manila, in search of Flower Beauty, look no further than Bon Marche.

Eyes: MAC Paint Pot (Bare Study), Rouge Bunny Rouge (Solstice Halcyon), K-Palette Liquid Eyeliner. Face: Bloom Secret Weapon Concealer Kit, bareMinerals Mineral Veil, Tarte Matte & Waterproof Bronzer (Park Avenue Princess). Brows: The Body Shop Brow & Liner Kit (02)
Ginger Lily seems to be a reddish coral. The pigmentation is superb, but the formula is so creamy that you need to take very good care of where you are drawing. There’s a chance that it will get everywhere.
One swipe delivers that amount of color. Good quality, if you ask me! The packaging is quite nice, too, though I wouldn’t go as far as everyone else, saying that it looks expensive. These don’t look expensive. They look quite nice but they don’t look high-end to me.
There’s a weird smell, too, like the metallic smell of overexerted batteries. I don’t know if that’s just mine, but no one else seems to note that. Is it crazy that I think I’ll still use this even after that fact?
Over all, this is a good drugstore lipstick, I think. If you’re looking for cruelty-free options, try looking into this line of lipsticks. I read the velvets/mattes were rubbish, but that these take the cake!

Flower Beauty is cruelty-free and available at Walmart.
I wish my walmart carried flower cosmetics. it looks great on you! I’ve never heard of a lipstick that smells like metal before lol
Thank you so much, Thea! I don’t think they SHOULD smell like metal. D:
Hi, just want to note that the URL of your Facebook Page in the link is incorrect with a double Y. Nice post, as usual. 🙂
Yes! Sorry for the confusion! And thank you!
Ooops so it’s supposed to be facebook.com/nothingspaces pala.
love the colour on you! http://www.stylesurani.com
Many thanks!
I’m surprised yours smelled bad. I don’t think mine did. Haha, I’ll be sure to smell it when I get home! You should try the lip butters and the lip glosses, I like those too. In fact, if you ever need/want something from the Flower Beauty line, let me know, I’d love another makeup swap pal. Maybe when your no buy ban ends? Haha. I think I bought mine in the Peony color and it’s more of a tea rose shade. I like the shade of yours!
Oh man, it is a pretty noticeable scent, so I’m pretty scared of using mine, LOL. Also, yes please! My makeup ban ends end of November, so I’ll email you then? 🙂
OMG I’ve been looking for this shade of coral for a while now! But I’m so scared about the weird smell though 😦 That’s usually a deal breaker for me.
I know, it’s so annoying! 😦 Haha I’m sure MAC or Chanel has something similar. I really wanted this one called Enjouee from Chanel, but I think it might be redder than this one.
I have the same shade and mine has a weird scent to it too. I couldn’t put my finger on it but your description seems on point! I still use mine though because it’s such a lovely shade and I don’t taste it anyway. I have a another Flower lipstick in a matte formulation but that one smells more of roses.
Wow, seriously?? That’s so annoying. I thought mine was just a dud. I am so apprehensive about using it because I feel like it could be a factory defect. I heard the matte formula is not as good, though. Would you say that is accurate?
I guess most people don’t like the matte formula because it can really dry up your lips. I think it also depends on the shade. I’ve read bad reviews on the lighter shades. The shade I have is Dahlia Darling, a blue-based red. I honestly think it’s great because it’s so lightweight I sometimes forget that I’m wearing lipstick. Yes it’s drying because it is matte but I have no major qualms about it since lip balm usually does the trick.
This is seriously my most favorite shade of coral (for myself)! I remember you saying something about not liking warm colors on your lips so I’m pretty surprised by this feature. Is it weird that I find this color “not you”? After fangirling on this blog since forever, I’m so not used to seeing coral on your lips!
Yes! I do not like warm colors on me at all. Like I said, a swatch online made it look like a dupe for Betty Bright, so I went ahead and got it, despite all the warning signs. Pero diba, hindi bagay?
