Hey everyone! Today, I have a video on how I make my version of a flawless face complexion. This was requested by reader, Amy, and you know me. I oblige too much. Just kidding. 🙂
Anyway, I say that this is my version because I very rarely wear full-coverage makeup and I don’t personally like the look of it on me. This seems long-winded and unnecessary, but I promise that it’s not! I use pretty standard products—which I will get into in a bit—and the look is pretty natural and not too “done.” There is an attractiveness to “undone-ness,” let us remember that!
The video is helpful because I do it in order, and I show, a little of how to apply each step. 🙂 If you want to learn more about the products, then read on.
WHAT I USE FOR A BASE WHEN I HAVE A BAD SKIN DAY
Primer: My favorite is the Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer because it’s light and easy-to-use. In this video, I used the shu uemura UV BB mouse, which I don’t think I’ve ever spoken about here. I just couldn’t understand why it was so awful—then I realized it was a primer, not a foundation or a base itself. Dumb.
Illuminator: I used the BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector before my foundation. Since it was ultimate glowy powers, I did not want to attract unnecessary attention. At least, of people who are into shiny objects. This keeps the magpies at bay.
Foundation: Ah, foundation. I absolutely detest heavy foundation, so I used this one by Bourjois called the Healthy Mix Serum. It says it’s a ‘gel foundation,’ but I find it quite runny and liquid-y. But oh-so-light.
Concealer: My favorite concealer at the moment—Bourjois Healthy Mix Concealer. My HG 0 Kuma concealer is a little hopeless when it comes to blemishes. This one is a perfect fit for both blemishes and under-eye circles. When I run out of it, it shall be a sad and woeful day.
Setting Powder: bareMinerals Mineral Veil is the choice for me. It’s wonderful, and it is also, reportedly, mostly cornstarch. I find that a little unsettling, but when it works, it works!
Finishing Powder: There’s a difference! I think. This step would be when I would but Guerlain Météorites or something, but in this video, I opted to put on a steady favorite of mine, the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder. It just adds an extra, though probably unnecessary, oomph to my face. I am of the opinion anyway.
And that’s that! This is what I do when I have a bit more time on my hands. Otherwise, it’s just going to be concealer and perhaps that Hourglass powder. What’s your bad-skin-day foundation routine like? Care to share?
Love your video, Where did you get your Bourjois products? Been hearong gpdd reviews about such products.
Hi, Izz! I actually bought mine from Vietnam! They’re available in a lot of Asian countries; just not here. 😦 Try ASOS.com!
Pretty skin!
Thank you. 🙂
Where did you purchase your bourjois foundation? 🙂
Hi Maggie. 🙂 I purchased it in Vietnam, but try ASOS.com. They offer free international shipping.
Cutiepie Ina! Looking good!;)
HAHAHA HI CASSIE :))
Do they sell Hourglass in Manila?
Hi Marie, some resellers like Make Up Pro (they are on Facebook) stock Hourglass, if I’m not mistaken.
Love this video! I always forget to warm up my concealer before application. This reminded me of that little step. Galing! And the Hourglass powder – ugh- so pretty!
Glad this helped you out. 🙂 Nice no? Trying to see if I want the Ambient Lighting Powder Palette or if I should sit that one out.
Hi there. Where do you buy your Hourglass Cosmetics? You have very beautiful skin 🙂
Hi Timmy, I buy them online 🙂 Zuneta used to carry them but I don’t think they do anymore. Thank you so much!
