Illamasqua Cream Blushers

Illamasqua Cream Blushers - Promise, Rude, Dixie

I picked up a few things from the Illamasqua super sale during the holidays and have been taking them out on a road test for the past month or so. These cream blushers went from £18 to £7.50 each, so I got three. Obviously… I have Promise, Rude, and Dixie, and they are all permanent shades.

Illamasqua Cream Blushers - Promise, Rude, Dixie - Swatches

Promise is a “warm candy pink, dewy finish.” Rude is a “warm peach pink, dewy finish.” Dixie is a “warm coral pink, dewy finish.” Of the three, I think Promise is most unique to me, perhaps followed by Rude. I really like the colors I picked because there is a bit of range to the selection, and I can wear all of the shades without looking too strange even though they vary in shade.

Illamasqua - Stipple Brush

I generally stipple them on top of my cheekbones, near the hairline, and I usually apply a very light layer on my face so that it doesn’t look too clownish. I have medium skin, so applying something heavily to get it true-to-pan just looks like a bad decision.

Wearing Promise:

Wearing Rude:

These are all easy to apply and to blend. They are also easy to build up and sheer out. Basically, they are the best. I love them so much. When I first swatched them using my finger, I found them way too slippy, but application with a stipple brush is perf. I wish I had a smaller stipple brush to apply them, but the one I have now (e.l.f. Stippling Brush, not the new smaller one!) works well enough.

I think the only “complaints” I have for these are that they don’t last super long (maybe they need to be set with something?) and also they look really gross after a while, as cream products are wont to. Despite that, these are definitely worth the money. Put it this way: I’d still buy them at full price; that’s how much these have impressed me.

Illamasqua is cruelty-free.

  1. Hey Carina, I’ve never tried these but I’m glad to hear you like them so much! Rude and Dixie seem really easy to pull off!

Oh you look lovely wearing each of these, but I particularly love how Promise looks on you! I have the same problem with cream blushes in general. They just get eaten up by my skin and don’t last very long. Chanel which sets into a more powdery consistency seems to last the best. Things that stay dewy just doesn’t seem to last on me.

    • Thank you so much. 😀 I applied these again with my fingers and found they lasted longer for some reason!

  3. Quite interesting your comment about them wearing off quickly. I use the Chanel ones and they stay put all day and true to shade. I think Illamasqua have a long way to go before i will be interested in buying any of their products, unfortunately.

  4. oh i love cream blush and these are all so pretty and what a great price! i can definitely understand the temptation!

  5. They all look fantastic on you. I don’t really care for cream blush, powder just seems to be faster & easier. I’m glad you reviewed these though, I’ve been curious about Illamasqua (I don’t think I’ve ever bought anything from that line…)
