The Urban Decay Naked 3 was one of those very hyped-up beauty releases that I knew I really wanted but didn’t end up getting for one reason or another. Instead, my sister attempted to get this for me for Christmas… and she did, but with a very long delay.
Which is fine, because I still like it and now I have it! (P.S. As of today, I haven’t bought a single lick of makeup for a month and a half. There is a threshold for new makeup and I have reached it.)
True to the Naked tradition, the Naked 3 has twelve neutral eyeshadows, bumping the count of Naked neutrals to a total of 40. The Naked 2 has overlapping shades from both the Naked 1 (Half Baked) and the Naked Basics (Foxy). The booklet contains samples of 4 of their primer potion variants, two of which I already have.
The eyeshadows are fixed in a lightest to darkest type of arrangement, sort of.
— Strange: perhaps ironically~* named because it’s your standard matte off-white, very slightly pink-toned.
— Dust: a gritty, glittery pink, as annoying as actual unwanted dust. This is widely regarded as the worst shade of the Naked 3, and I can see why. I think everyone is better off using this shade as a “glitter topcoat” or under a sticky, colored base that we endeavor to look a bit rosy-hued. Anyway, I haven’t tried this much, so I have no real mad opinions about it, but it is the grittiest shade of the entire bunch.
— Burnout: a pretty midtone peachy rose, like the surrounding area of a baked burnout’s eyes.
— Limit: a beautiful light rosy mauve, one of the mattes in this palette. It is lighter and more pink-toned than Naked 2’s Tease, which is one of my absolute favorite shades.
Swatched, L-R: Strange, Dust, Burnout, Limit
— Buzz: a medium mauve-y rose with a bit of silver sparkle. Very pretty.
— Trick: a rosy copper that translates a bit orange-y on me.
— Nooner: a matte midtone taupe-y mauve, which looks exactly like the Pantone color, “purple mauve”.
– Liar: a really pretty metallic old rose.
Swatched, L-R: Limit, Buzz, Trick, Nooner, Liar
— Factory: a deep warm chocolate brown with a satin finish
— Mugshot: a cool frosty medium brown
— Darkside: a grey-toned brown, with a satin finish and slightly purple leanings
— Blackheart: a blackened deep brown (almost black) with a suspension of red sparks. So, freaking pretty. I think this made me want this palette the most.
Swatched, L-R: Nooner, Liar, Factory, Mugshot, Darkside, Blackheart

I’ve used this palette a handful of times since getting it, but I want to use it a bit more to facilitate my opinion-making for the Urban Decay Naked comparison post that I’m planning to post later this week. As luck would have it, I have access to all the Nakeds (1, 2, 3, and Basics). Please let me know if there is anything specific you want me to address in the post.
For the purpose of this post, though, here are two looks I’ve done using this pretty palette:
LOOK 1: Burnout on the lid, Liar in the crease.
LOOK 2: Nooner in the crease, Liar on the lid, Factory in the outer corner and lower lash line.
I’ll play with this some more, and maybe do a One Week Naked 3 (series of looks), like I did with the original Naked and the Naked 2. I ultimately really like the kind of variation that this palette offers. It might be my favorite one (among the Nakeds), but I’m holding off making that declaration since this is a new palette + I am probably just really excited about it.
The palette also comes with a dual-ended brush that’s similar to the one you get with the Naked 2. Naked 3’s brush is a bit different, though, since the “blender,” fluffy side is more pinched (at the ferrule) so the shape is quite different, and the bristles are shorter. The other, flat side is less tapered than the Naked 2’s flat side with very slightly shorter bristles, but they are basically the same.
Instead of a deluxe sample size of the Urban Decay Primer Potion, that comes with the original Naked, or a deluxe sample size of the lip gloss, that comes with the Naked 2, the Naked 3 comes with 4 samples of their different kinds of Primer Potion. I currently have the original and Sin, but the Naked 3 also comes with the anti-aging variant, as well as Eden.
The order also came with samples of their new lipstick line, Revolution, which is extremely cool:
The Naked 3 palette retails for $52, which is a $2 from when I bought my other Naked palettes early last year.
Like I mentioned earlier in the post, I’m putting together a comparison post of all the Naked palettes. Please leave a comment if you have a specific question you would like me to answer about any of the palettes. I’ll do my best to address them in the upcoming post!
Thank you for reading!

It took me a while to love this palette but now it’s the only one I grab haha! Great post and combinations X
Happy to hear it worked out for you, too! 🙂
They’ve upped the prices of all the Naked palettes. =( It’s $83 in Singapore now, when it was previously $8. Limit and Nooner are one of the main reasons why I bought this palette! I think it looks really good on Asian yellow undertones. =) Have fun with it.
WOW, that’s such a big jump. :0
Argh. $80, $80. It was never $8.
Your face, Ate Carina. So flawless. *u* I would love to get my hands on this palette soon! I think I like this better than the Naked 2. 🙂
Hee, thank you! 🙂
This palette is beautiful. I would love it!
Thank you, Grace! 🙂
I love this palette. It has been my go-to since the day I got it. I have a blog too if you want to check it out http://brushesandbronze.wordpress.com/2014/02/15/getting-naked-for-the-3rd-time-urban-decay-does-it-again/
Thanks, Chelsey. 🙂 Great post.
Thank you 🙂
You look beautiful in your pictures. So soft and subdued and delicate! Great post and looks 🙂
Aw, thank you Raven. 🙂
Super jealous, looks gorgeous. I’m waiting for my birthday. I’ve also failed miserably (again) at my buy ban. I’ve been buying these here and there but especially after IMATS, I went a little crazy on Hautelook when Eve Pearl and TheBalm were on
But I suppose there’s always starting over. I’m saving but not as much as I should/can. Anyways, I can’t wait to see all the looks you come up with using that palette!
Thank you! I don’t even go online to “window shop” anymore hehe.
I have a question!! Bakit ang ganda mo??
Haha seriously though, I almost screamed when I saw you post about this!! Definitely looking forward to more reviews + pretty looks! For now, wishlisteeeeeeeeeed.
HAHAHA THANK YOU PLS? ❤
I'll play with it some more!
Your skin is absolutely glowing! Nakakadistract from the eyemakeup. Hahah jk. I also got this as a birthday gift. I think I love it even more before I got it for free. Haha
I love all the colors in this palette, from the lightest to the darkest.
Aw, thank ya. 🙂 Nice no? I love it, too.
soooo jeally! I still haven’t tried anything from Urban Decay… I know, I’m such a looser! it’s just too damn pricey…lol
