Le Métier de Beauté Peau Vierge Correcteur Concealer

Le Metier de Beaute - Peau Vierge Concealer - Medium - Pen

Ahhh, another Le Métier de Beauté product again this week. Don’t mind if I do!

I received the Peau Vierge Correcteur Concealer in Medium ($95) in my Beauty Vault VIP March box. It’s something I’ve been eyeing for a while now, but never really followed through with, because it’s so damn expensive.

Product Description: “This luxuriously creamy concealer has the power to naturally cover flaws as it corrects them. The formula is designed to work like skincare—it encourages collagen production, diminishes the appearance of dark circles, softens lines, blurs blemishes and tightens the look of pores within a week of daily use. Light-diffusing coverage creates a smooth, luminous, undetectable finish. Broad-spectrum SPF 16 protects the skin from damaging UVA/UVB rays.”

It only comes in two shades, Fraise/Cool and Medium. Much to the chagrin of my fellow BVV subscribers whose skin colors don’t fit in that spectrum. I think it’s kind of weird that LMdB has been sending complexion products (the Face Kaleidoscope, this concealer and the powder in April), when they have specifically stated they would not. Luckily for me, they have all worked on my skin.

Le Metier de Beaute - Peau Vierge Concealer - Medium - Pic

The Peau Vierge Concealer is tiny. Check it out next to the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer. It contains a pitiful 0.07 oz. compared to NARS’ 0.22 oz. It’s all about how the product works, though, right?

Le Metier de Beaute - Peau Vierge Concealer - Medium - Tube

The Peau Vierge Correcteur~ comes in a twist-up form, and I’ve come to expect a drier consistency from concealers that resemble lipsticks. However, that’s not the case here. The product goes on smoothly, even more so when you apply it using your fingers, instead of straight from the tube. Despite its creaminess, it still keeps its solid shape.

Le Metier de Beaute - Peau Vierge Concealer - Medium - Swatch

The texture is really great, but I do feel like it tends to sit on top of my skin. I have fussy fine lines under my eye, so I’m not surprised, but I do prefer the overall look that the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer gives me.

FOTD - In the Springtime The Le Métier de Beauté Peau Vierge Correcteur Concealer brightens up my eye area, though, and really counteracts the dark circles. Coverage is quite good (due to powerful pigmentation), yet it gives off a more natural look to your makeup, which I always prefer. I found that it works best with the Le Métier de Beauté Eye Brightening and Setting Powder, but holds its own without it.

I think the advantage that this has over other concealers is its SPF Content (even though it’s kind of low) and skin care properties. It has Retinol, an anti-aging ingredient that my skin thankfully agrees with. Retinol is notorious for reacting badly to sunlight, but LMdB is claiming to have a “patented and propriety delivery technology called Syntoc Actif,” through which the Retinol is delivered and allowed to safely and effectively penetrate the skin. With Syntoc Actif, LMdB claims that “20 times [the usual amount of] Retinoic Acid is absorbed into the deeper skin layers, making it the most effective cosmetic Retinoid treatment in the market.”

Big claims! I wonder if it matches the big price tag. I haven’t used it that much to really observe since I tend to reach for my NARS RCC way more often. Still, though, this concealer has a plethora of devotees, including Xiao of Messy Wands, Amy (I think?) of Café Makeup, Rae of The RAEviewer, and The Beauty Professor.

Le Métier de Beauté is cruelty-free. I received the Beauty Vault VIP Subscription from Sarie.

  1. Hey Carina, I was mildly curious about this one, but if you actually prefer NARS RCC I might skip. That’s the one I’ve been using, too. It’s risky to put base products in any subscription box. Glad you’re lucky to get the shades that work for you!

    • I know, so odd! It was kind of disappointing how they handled it when people started to complain… It’s a pretty big sum to pay up front and if you do so with the knowledge that they weren’t going to include complexion products, and then they do… and they don’t match you, well. That’s really annoying. I’m really lucky I got pretty good matches so far!

  2. Hi! Xiao’s link redirects to http://www.makeupandbeautyblog.com/ 🙂

Anyway, I was initially eyeing the Cle de Peau concealer, but reading your post, and seeing how it looks on your face (which looks immaculate by the way) made me want this too!!

I’m also interested in subscribing to the LMdB box, but I’m just wondering, do they get delivered to your doorstep or do you have to pick them up from the post? 🙂

    • Hey Toni! Yep, the link is a feature on Xiao, and it’s where she talks about the Peau Vierge Correcteur extensively. 🙂

I have to use a forwarding courier, since they don’t ship to the PH!
