I’ve had this palette for a while, but I’m still astounded by how many combinations I can get out of it, given that it only has six shades. I think that’s a true mark of value. Everyone knows there’s always that one pesky shade in a palette that you can’t seem to use. With NARS And God Created the Woman, all the shades are useful, even as multi-purpose products when you’re in a pinch. I use Belissima and Coconut Grove to mix when I need to make eyebrow touch-ups.
DAY ONE Shades used: Alhambra, Belissima, and Galapagos
After 7 hours of wear in the summer heat. BLAH! I may feel like shit, but my eyeshadow still looks gewd. I think so anyway. Btw, this is the makeup I was wearing on my Twitter profile picture!
Rest of the Makeup: Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer, NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer (Ginger), Le Métier de Beauté Eye Brightening and Setting Powder (Refresh), bareMinerals Original Loose Powder Foundation (Medium Beige), K-Palette Real Lasting Eyebrow 24H (02), The Body Shop Brow & Liner Kit (02), NARS Pro Prime Smudgeproof Eyeshadow Base, NARS And God Created the Woman Palette, Happy Skin Eye Am Here To Stay Liquid Liner, Pixy Volumizing Waterproof Mascara*, NARS Powder Blush (Orgasm), Happy Skin Shut Up & Kiss Me Moisturizing Lippie (The Morning After; LE)
DAY TWO Shades used: Alhambra and Kalahari
Again, after a few hours out in the sun. I like how adding a paint pot or a cream base underneath really extends the number of looks you can do with this palette. Check out my base work, though. SPF really cramps my style.
Rest of the Makeup: Céléteque Matte Moisturizer, NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer (Ginger), Ellana Minerals Loose Mineral Powder Foundation (Caramel Latte)*, Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder Palette, & Other Stories Eyebrow Pencil (Bouclé Greige), Inglot eyebrow powder (569), MAC Paint Pot (Stormy Pink), Dolly Wink Liquid Liner, BECCA The Ultimate Mascara, Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush (Flush), THREE (Love Like Heaven)
DAY THREE; shades used: Alhambra, Belissima, Coconut Grove, Night Clubbing
I remembered to take pictures before heading out to the #YSProm! I was so happy I didn’t have to wear SPF for this night event.
Rest of the Makeup: NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer (Ginger), bareMinerals Original Foundation (Medium Beige), BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector (Opal), Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder (Mood Light), & Other Stories Eyebrow Pencil (Bouclé Greige), The Body Shop Brow & Liner Kit (02), MAC Paint Pot (Painterly), Sasa Perfect Shape Gel Eyeliner (01 Velvet Black), Happy Skin Eye Am Here to Stay Gel Liner (Peppermint), Maybelline The Rocket Mascara*, NARS x Pierre Hardy Blush (Boys Don’t Cry), Happy Skin Shut Up & Kiss MeMoisturizing Lippie (The Morning After)
DAY FOUR; shades used: Kalahari, Belissima, Galapagos, Night Clubbing
I was testing out a new base this day (review here). It did not go that well. I enjoy the lip combo I discovered, though!
Rest of the Makeup: Myra VitaGlow BB Cream (Beige)*, & Other Stories Eyebrow Pencil (Bouclé Greige), The Body Shop Brow & Liner Kit (02), MAC Paint Pot (Painterly), 3CE Under Eye Flash (African Sunset)*, Oslo Cosmetics Blush (Carina), Illamasqua Cream Foundation (CF 320), OCC Lip Tar (Annika), Addiction by Ayako Lipstick (Gold Fish)
DAY FIVE; shades used: Alhambra, Kalahari, Galapagos
Wore this to a dinner and a movie. I love this look; I concentrated Galapagos on the outer lashes and highlighted (a step I mostly skip) the inner corners (upper and lower!) with Kalahari. Alhambra is my standard lid color when it comes to this palette.
Rest of the Makeup: bareMinerals Original Foundation (Medium Beige), Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum (53), K-Palette Real Lasting Eyebrow (02), The Body Shop Brow & Liner Kit (02), MAC Paint Pot (Painterly), Rimmel ScandalEyes Waterproof Eye Kohl (Nude), Max Factor Mascara*, Dolly Wink Liquid Liner (Black), Tarte Amazonian Clay Matte & Waterproof Bronzer (Park Avenue Princess), Le Métier de Beauté Kaleidoscope Cheek Kit (Cheeky Chic), Tom Ford Lipstick (Flamingo)
I am a one-trick eyeshadow pony = light shade on lid, darker shade on the outer corner. I’m not sure these posts showed the variations you can achieve with this palette. I mean, I think the subtleties and nuances are the type of things that only weirdo beauty nuts like me (and you?) might notice. An example: Kalahari is so freaking beautiful as an inner corner highlight, even if it is slightly darker than Alhambra. I’m a little wary of Night Clubbing as it translates a bit grey on me, instead of green, but I still like the palette a lot! All of the shades can be used as a one-shadow lid wash, too, so it’s great for traveling, in case you want to switch things up or something.
Anyway, I hope this helps! I will endeavor to find even more ways to use this palette, though probably not in the near future. I want to play with my other makeup, see. 🙂 I think this palette/set is still available on Sephora, though, if you’re developing a lemming. It’s seriously a travel-friendly neutral palette to consider if you’re on the hunt for one.
