Harry Potter Week: Inspired by Literature

Hey, everyone! It’s the first of September… which means that it’s time to go to Platform 9 3/4 for a new school year at Hogwarts. 🙂 For Softly Sometimes, I decided to do a Harry Potter Week, with a few magic-centric posts on beauty.

For the first day, I thought I’d do an Inspired by Literature post, which I’ve only done once before. Inspired by Literature is a series taken from Jessica of Getting Cheeky, in which you basically take a piece of literature and try to interpret it in a makeup and beauty way. Jessica’s posts are quite thoughtful—mine are a bit literal, but I hope you enjoy these all the same.

The books I’m using are the US editions, since they’re the ones I have!

Whoa, I LOVE this idea and I LOOOVE your picks! This looks like a week’s worth of fabulous makeup looks!

  2. Yay you’re my girl! I was just thinking about re-reading the series the other day. I think this is a sign that I should 🙂

  3. I could not hit that “like” button hard enough. I am ridiculously excited for this series.

(I am totally a Potterhead, can you tell?)

  4. Love this – so creative, Carinabebe!! I stopped reading at Book 3 😦 Too affected with what happened to Sirius. But among the three books, that was my favorite!

    • Thanks, Shari! 😀 Haha oh no, pero that’s my favorite also! I’m going to do a re-read soon. 😀 It’s so fun to go back to, because I tend to forget A LOT of stuff. I can’t believe little kids read those long-ass books!

  5. This is a *beautiful* post. I love how you arranged the makeup against their corresponding color and how they, like the cover, reflect the mood of the book. Will you post these as used on your face? I’d love to see them as a look and read about your thoughts on them 🙂

    • Thank you, Tellie! ❤ Haha maybe in the future. I'm finishing up scheduled posts so I'm not sure if I have room to do 7 looks :0
