The Amaranth Ultra Hydrating Cream* is quite a light cream used for “smoothing face,” which I presume means that it gives the wearer a visibly smoother visage. “Pave your way to beautiful & healthy skin,” the pamphlet says. “It meets your needs.”
It “gives elasticity and moisture” to the skin using vegetable moisture water drops that contain Rosa Centifolia Flower Water or rose water, a common skin care ingredient, Panax Ginseng Root Extract which is one of Korea’s main crops, and Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract. These ingredients help with soothing irritated skin.
The Aramanth Ultra Hydrating Cream is the first of the AMC Special Care Series, which is a four-step process. It’s considerably shorter than a lot of the typical Korean skin care lines, with this product as the basic hydrator. This is used after cleansing and toning.
The texture is similar to Sorabee’s Balancing Aqua Cream, a product that I got from previous boxes from BNT, in that the product appears to be a cream but dissolves into a more watery substance. The “water drop” effect is more noticeable with the Sorabee product, however, as this one absorbs into the skin really quickly. If you are liberal with product application, though, you can see the water drops form more easily:
Sorabee is manufactured by the same company, so I’m not surprised by the similarities.
Although this is called the “Ultra Hydrating Cream,” I found that it is actually quite a light cream/moisturizer. I don’t think this will be enough hydration for Korean winters, but for the humid holidays in Manila, this is perfect to wear under makeup, during the day. You can even mix this into your usual foundation for a little burst of added moisture.
I also really like how the bottle looks, but that’s probably because I love the look of really, really deep navy.
