A Blogging Break (Kinda, Not Really)

Hey all!

As some of you may have noticed, I haven’t been replying to a lot of the comments in a timely manner. I’ve also fallen off checking my fave blogs lately. Some time late last year (or I should say, just this December), I started a bit of my goal setting for 2015 and like a lot of people, I had grand plans to make my year better than the last.

One of my goals was to improve my blog, but as I was frantically scheduling everything last night, I realized that there really was no way to sustain my dreamz of once-a-day posting if I wanted to achieve my other goals as well. I started actively posting less a few months ago, but I finally resolved to post around 4 times a week. That’s not so bad, right? 🙂

I really, really have a hard time with this because I have a lot of ideas, but ultimately, I had to admit to myself that this is just something I do for fun, as a hobby. If you’re new or you just didn’t know, I work as an artist, graphic designer, and writer. For 2015, I wanted to kind of improve on those areas, so I struggled with making everything fit in with my blogging schedule, until I had to suck it up and admit that working on these aspects was more of a priority than keeping a blog updated 7 days a week. I’m hoping this opens up more time for me to answer comments, too.

So there. Not really a break, just a formal admission of my change of “schedule.”

Also, since some of you were asking for a pic of ColourPop’s Feminist on my face, here it is:
Colourpop Feminist - Face

Rest of my face: NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer (Ginger), NARS Pro-Prime Multi Protect Primer, Nature Republic By Flower Auto Eyebrow (2), Le Métier de Beauté Eye Brightening and Setting Powder (Refresh), Le Métier de Beauté Classic Flawless Finish Loose Powder (Translucent), LUSH Eyeshadow (Sophisticated), MAKE Matte Eyeshadow (Khaki)*, K-Palette 1Day Magic Liquid Liner*, NYX Powder Blush (Taupe), Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush (Mood Exposure)

Anyway, that’s that. I think Rae is doing something similar, too. Read her post, it’s great. 🙂 Hope you’re all having a great new year so far!

  1. Girl, we understand. I would not mind a post a day but is that feasible with someone how works. I have post once a day but it was very hard and I felt the unnecessarily pressure.

  2. You look gorgeous in the picture but chase your dreams! We understand! We just want an update once in a while about how great youre doing at chasing them!!

  3. Hey Carina, I so totally get ya! Sometimes you need to sacrifice a lot to be able to keep the blog running 7 days a week, and I have LONG admired your blogging frequency! Best of luck putting a little more time into the other things you do! xx

  4. 4x a week is definitely not bad. I’m trying to learn/study something new and that takes a lot of time. It sucks that time is finite and that humans need sleep.

PS Thanks for the mention 🙂

    • Wow! What are you learning, if it’s not too forward to ask? 🙂

(I always love your posts, lol. Sorry for the OA linking hahaha.)

      • I’m trying to understand how to invest money. I hope it won’t take as much time in the following months so I can move on to learning how to make our meals (to reduce the number of times we order in or eat out). After that, water coloring or some other creative outlet like photography 😛

Anything that involves patience, I suck at.

      • That’s cool! I wanna do meal planning nga rin e, but I get so overwhelmed by the thought of efficient trips to the grocery to make the most of ingredients, etc. HAHA I know what you mean about patience… D:

  5. DUDE. Posting four times a week is still admirable. I feel pretty great if I manage three posts a week! I always used to wonder how you managed to post every day. Unless this blog is your job, sacrificing parts of your life for its sake is just not worth it.

Also, you look so great in dark plums and purples!

    • Haha I kind of feel like I have to lower this number to 3…… Hehe. “Unless this blog is your job, sacrificing parts of your life for its sake is just not worth it.” — This is true, thanks for mentioning it so I’m reminded!

Also thank you because ❤ ❤ ❤ Haha.

  6. Ahh, this is exactly why I only post weekly now on Badass Lady Creatives. It’s a project worth maintaining but daily posting gave me zero time outside of the workday to brush up on other skills…and I want to be badass too :]

  7. Four times a week is NOT BAD! How I wish I could update as often as you can! hehe 🙂 Good luck with your goals!

    • I feel like it’s too much work, but there are also so many things I want to write and share. Thank you so much! x
