Post-Sunburn: Body Stuff

I posted about my skincare routine for my face, after I burned it baking under the sun (ha), and I figured I’d do one for my body since I badly burned it too. Other than drinking copious amounts of water to rehydrate, here’s what has been helping my poor skin recuperate.

Cleanse

I like to occasionally exfoliate my body, especially when my skin’s all dry and flaky from the beach. I don’t do it everyday, since my skin’s still a bit sensitive, but I just use a standard bath lily. Konjac sponges are perfect for this as they are extremely gentle, but I ran out, so bath lily it is! I’ve also been trying out the Cure Natural Aqua Gel* which also gets rid of dead, flaky skin.

Moisturize

I mainly use the Kracie Aroma Resort Body Milk in Shine Orange and Bergamot* as it smells amazing, is light enough to use for the day, but provides ample moisture at night. My feet are really perpetually dry (what’s up with that, body?), so I like slathering on this lotion or applying a heavier lotion/foot cream, and wearing cozy socks to bed. I still have calluses, but my skin doesn’t crack anymore.

Protect

Like I mentioned in my face post, I use the Kosé Suncut Water in UV Protect Essence SPF 50+ PA++++ for my body as well. It’s part of my Project Pan this year, and it’s such a light formula that doesn’t leave gross sunblock stickiness, so I actually really like using it.

And that’s it! I feel like I should be doing something more, so let me know if you think I’m forgetting something in this post-sunburn aftercare routine.

I love Cure Natural Aqua Gel. I found it’s so great for cleansing and exfoliating. Perfect for flaky sun-burn. 🙂 This is a really good post. 🙂

  2. I have the driest feet. I’d love to moisturize then wrap them in socks, but later on I think it gets too hot. :)) Gotta settle for thick lotions instead.

    • I don’t like the thought of my lotioned feet rolling around in bed, so I opt for socks hahaha, I eventually kick them off well into the night, so it’s OK 🙂

  3. No aloe gel? That’s my favorite part!

I didn’t think I could use Cure on sunburns, but that’s a great idea. I should do it.. although I hardly ever burn :[

    • I gave away all my aloe gels to Sarie, lol. I didn’t think I would burn this much, omg. I usually never get tan which frustrates me so much because I like how I look so much more when I’m a couple of shades darker.

  4. Hi Carina! How do you find Cure? I’ve been using the green Tomatox peeling cream from Tony Moly, but I’ve been reading online reviews saying that its pH level isn’t the best for exfoliating. Since it’s running out anyway, I’ve been looking for alternatives.

    • I like it a lot! It’s very gentle and doesn’t feel like it does much but after the “peeling” part, my skin feels great.
