Le Métier de Beauté Beauty Vault VIP March 2015

I actually got this up on time, ish! Go me. If you’re new, the Beauty Vault VIP is an annual beauty subscription by Le Métier de Beauté that’s on its second year. Each month’s box “costs” about $30, which is a pretty good deal considering LMdB’s usual price point which, let’s face it, is sky-high. I haven’t bought any new makeup items this year (so far), and I think my desire for new makeup is curbed in part by these monthly arrivals. 🙂

I’m pretty happy with the March box, which is a set of what looks like to be one Lip Crème and one Sheer Brilliance Lip Gloss. I am a fan of both, so I’m on board this train. It’s been met with lukewarm reviews, from the BVVIP forum I frequent, and though I’ve yet to wear these shades in particular, both of these lip gloss formulas are two of the few I do like anyway.

LMdB Glow Your Own Way - VIP2015

The set is called Glow Your Own Way and features two VIP exclusive shades. Though I miss the handwritten notes and general “care” that was in the first round of this sub, I do like the new attention they’ve given to packaging their items. I still find the sub a little inconsistent, but since it’s a few months shy of two years old, I look past the lack of information cards, etc. and focus on the products. Which are 90% awesome for me anyway.

It’s just hard to refer to two items with no info at all about it.

A lot of people were upset by the color selection, since one shade seems to wash out every imaginable skin shade, and the other just doesn’t look like it’ll show up. But what I’ve come to understand from LMdB color products is that they are a fan of layering unassuming shades together to create complexity. That remains to be seen from these items, but I’m not about to write them off entirely just because of how they swatch on my hand. Maybe I’ve just been dranking the Kool-Aid. Who knows? I’m happy with the March box, though, if that counts for anything!

That said, the Lip Crèmes retail for $36 each while the Sheer Brilliance Lip Gloss retails for $32 each. Given that I’m not sure which ones these are (just going by previous experience with both lines), the “duet” is valued between $64-$72.
