ILIA Beauty - Multi-Stick, Tinted Lip Conditioner, Lipstick, Mascara, Lip Crayon

ILIA Beauty Lip Swatch Video + Swatches

A few months ago, I did an ILIA Roundup, in which I spoke a bit about the ILIA products I have, up until that point, tried. I started thinking about what videos I could make and thought it would be somewhat helpful to do a try-on sort of video in which I wear the ILIA lip products I have to demonstrate how they look on my face. If you’re not familiar with ILIA, it’s a Canadian beauty brand founded in 2011 that specializes in organic lip products, “dedicated to creating the purest products possible. The ethical-sustainable approach embodied in each piece is filled with certified organic bio-active botanicals that nourish and rejuvenate the skin.” Says its founder, Sasha Plavsic: “Somebody once said to me, that because its organic its good for you, and it doesn’t matter if it doesn’t work as well as the mainstream stuff – I intend to change their mind.” Plavsic has a background in design and aesthetics, having worked with brands like Oliver Peoples, Chrome Hearts, and Cartier, which probably explains …

Best Ever: K-Palette’s Reformulated Eyeliner

Not too long ago, I received quite the regal package (haha) from the local distributors of K-Palette. For the last few years, K-Palette has been my liquid eyeliner and eyebrow product of choice—something not to be taken lightly, given how fickle of a human being I am. But I digress. Inside the box were two shades of the new Best Ever K-Palette Real-Lasting Eyeliner 24H WP*, which is a mouthful but admittedly very descriptive!

OCC Cosmetic Colour Pencil in Lydia

I had to search my Gmail inbox to get the backstory on my mysterious Lydia purchase. I mean, I didn’t forget buying it, but I wasn’t sure what the circumstances were or why it took me so long to review it. After remembering why I got it (Black Friday sale—$12.80 instead of $16), I began writing this review.

Glow vs. Glow

In Glow vs. Glow, I’m pitting two known glow-givers against each other. It all started when I noticed that the Le Métier de Beauté Peau Vierge Anti-Aging Tinted Complexe is THE SAME PRODUCT as the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector—or is it? At first glance, it’s easy to dismiss them both as liquid highlighters, but it’s not quite the end of that story.

Cure Natural Aqua Gel + Cure Water Treatment* Review & Giveaway

I’ve spoken about Cure Natural Aqua Gel* in a previous post (Post-Sunburn: Body Stuff) and though it initially left me a little unimpressed, I really paid attention to how to use it properly and tried again. It’s been an excellent addition to my skin care routine. The Cure Natural Aqua Gel* is “Japan’s No. 1 Exfoliator,” dealing with a myriad of skin issues like pigmentation, pimples, wrinkles, and dull skin, but doing so in a gentle way. Used 2 times a week, it can make a big difference for your skin. I especially noticed that it was effective when I burned myself stupidly in the summer sun. My skin had been peeling from a sunburn, something that hasn’t happened to me before, and Cure was one of the things I added into my routine, as regular exfoliation would have been too rough for my damaged skin. Cure Natural Aqua Gel is 90% water, with several ingredients to target specific problems such as gingko biloba (provides hydration + prevents freckles and age spots), rosemary leaf extract …

3CE Lip Lacquer in Desert Flower

And another belated review for one of my fave lip products from my Korea trip… last year. I told you I’m running on an immense backlog, you guys. Anyway, here be the 3CE Lip Lacquer in Desert Flower. It’s essentially a liquid lipstick that semi-sets to a somewhat velvety texture. It packs a lot of punch! I’ve tried another color prior to Desert Flower, a loud neon pink called Pink Boom.*

Le Métier de Beauté Beauty Vault VIP March 2015

I actually got this up on time, ish! Go me. If you’re new, the Beauty Vault VIP is an annual beauty subscription by Le Métier de Beauté that’s on its second year. Each month’s box “costs” about $30, which is a pretty good deal considering LMdB’s usual price point which, let’s face it, is sky-high. I haven’t bought any new makeup items this year (so far), and I think my desire for new makeup is curbed in part by these monthly arrivals. 🙂 I’m pretty happy with the March box, which is a set of what looks like to be one Lip Crème and one Sheer Brilliance Lip Gloss. I am a fan of both, so I’m on board this train. It’s been met with lukewarm reviews, from the BVVIP forum I frequent, and though I’ve yet to wear these shades in particular, both of these lip gloss formulas are two of the few I do like anyway.
