K-Palette Real Lasting 2Way Eyebrow Pencil*

I love getting to try new K-Palette products because they’re always good. I always go on to try other liquid liners and eyebrow products, but I always go back to K-Palette. I’ve been mostly using the 24H Real Lasting 2Way Eyebrow Liner in G101* since July (!!!) and it’s only now that the marker end is drying out. Granted, I don’t wear makeup everyday, but when I do, I always put on dem brows. I’ve never encountered the K-Palette Real Lasting 2Way Eyebrow Pencils* before, but they’re a welcome addition to my brow arsenal, especially now that I have a strong, strong desire to try out the pencils from Hourglass and Anastasia. Crisis averted! For now.

Blush Crush: Kjaer Weis Cream Blush in Abundance

I’ve used the Kjaer Weis Cream Blush in Abundance, and featured it here so many times, so it baffles me how there isn’t a dedicated review for this—one of my favorite blushes in the world—yet. I was so, so curious about Kjaer Weis that I took the plunge and ordered their cream foundation and their cream blush after a lot of research, mainly because they are frakking expensive. I don’t think I would have ordered these in my current state of mind, let’s just put it that way. I’m kind of really glad I did, though, because this is a marvelous product. Kjaer Weis makes certified organic beauty products with a refillable system. Their compacts are heavy and expensive—this blush will set you back $56 (or $32 for the refill, which is magnetized if you want to go the Z-palette route).

Sigma Powder Blush in Born To*

I’m not generally one to fawn over blushes—at a certain point, I’ve had to admit that most look similar on my skintone—but I’ve been liking the Sigma Powder Blush in Born To* even though I hadn’t expected a whole lot from it. Born To is such a pretty shade—a dusty mauve-y pink with fine silver specks. I’ve swatched it heavily, then blended out in the photo above. From my experience, Sigma blushes aren’t that pigment-packed in practice, but it does layer and build really nicely. I love pairing this blush with similar-toned lip products, since I think it helps bring out the tones of the blush. Powder blushes tend to fade really quickly on me, as my face tends to eat it up for some reason, but I like that this one comes in such a portable compact that’s easy to bring for touch-ups. Born To is such a pretty everyday shade, even if you’re not cool-toned, which is what I initially thought would suit this blush the best. It’s a really pretty all-around blush …

Too Cool for School Hot Girl Lip Sticker in Pink Moon*

I received this new lipstick from Too Cool for School’s Hot Girl Lip Sticker line a few weeks ago! Pink Moon* is a violently bright shade that I don’t see myself wearing often, but it’s an otherwise great statement pink if you want to go bold. The Hot Girl Lip Sticker claims long wear (“adheres to skin & remains long vividly”), “healthy and resilient lips” c/o jojoba oil, smooth and “energetic” color/application, all in an itty-bitty portable size! The lipstick itself is pretty small, especially when you compare it to the standard size of lipsticks, but it does pack quite a punch. It’s a little too bright for me right now. I went to the beach last week (which explains my absence, I hope) and you guys, I fried like an egg. I am burnt to a crisp! And I really, really don’t want to go back to my ~natural~ skin color, even though the only foundation I can wear right now is my MAKE Soft Focus one, and that’s because I bought that one …

More 3CE: Line Your Eyes

This post is quite overdue, given that I bought these pencils way back in November. Since I don’t do colored liner very often—which kind of makes this purchase questionable—it took me a while to gather my thoughts on these products. Long story short: I really like them! 🙂 I’ve been pretty much liking my 3CE purchases anyway, so this comes as no surprise. Featured in this post are two kinds of liners by 3CE: the Creamy Water Proof Eyeliner (that reminds me of NARS’ Larger Than Life pencils) and the “Under Eye Flash,” which I imagine helps achieve the sparkly waterline/lower lash line look that Koreans seem to really like. I’ve already tried a shade in the latter formula, which I like, but makes me look a little stoned as it’s quite coppery and brings out the red on my waterline. Swatched, L-R are the 3CE Creamy Water Proof Eye Liner in Mojito, Wow Pink, and Moulin Rouge, and the Under Eye Flash in Pitter Patter. The first two shades are completely matte, which adds …

NYX Blush - Taupe

NYX Powder Blush in Taupe

A long overdue review, mostly because I had to revisit this blush again before I realized how great it is. That, my friends, is one of the perils of setting up a beauty blog without knowing much about it. But anyway. The NYX Powder Blush in Taupe is a much talked-about product in the beauty world for a reason. Because most bronzers are too warm or golden to be used as a “proper” contour shade, this near-grey blush has been high up in the ranks of the too-few products that can mimic an actual shadow. The “correct” contour shade relies heavily on the preference of the wearer, but if you’re someone who wants to lay off the orange, this one’s for you! It’s been mentioned a million times, and that’s because it works. It’s a great way to try out this shade, too, because NYX is cheaper than most of the grey contour powders or blushes out on the market. The packaging is very un-glamorous and nondescript, but when a product works, you hardly notice …

Oil Love You

HEH, sorry about the title. Today’s post is about facial oils! I’ve been using them for about six months or so, and I just wanted to sort of talk about what I have and when I like to use them. If you’ve been curious about these oils, read on!
