Happy Skin Eye Need a Miracle Concealer

So, I dragged my mom to a Happy Skin Counter and this is what she ended up getting. To be honest, I think she got the Eye Need a Miracle Concealer for me, since I wouldn’t shut up about it. I didn’t want to buy it just yet because it had an alarming amount of glitter in it, for something that’s supposed to conceal dark circles. Eye Need a Miracle only has one shade, Butter, and I’ve been told that it “adjusts” to any skin tone. I’m a big ol’ skeptic when it comes to these things because I can’t fathom how that works out, but it swatches fine on my medium skin color:

Quickie: OCC Skin: Conceal in Y3

My last OCC purchase led me on another trail of thinking I know better. Concealer is probably one of the trickiest things you can “eyeball” when buying makeup online. I think I may be the only asshole who does this but I can’t help it. My latest impulse blind buy is the OCC Skin: Conceal in Y3. The product itself is really good, I think I just missed the mark on the shade selection. The product comes in a plastic screw-top pot that is pretty much identical to their packaging for the Loose Colour Concentrates and the Crème Colour Concentrates. It’s the same as the containers I use to depot certain makeup bits. I don’t really like this—I prefer glass jars—but these are functional enough. Y3 is meant for medium skintones with dark-yellow undertones. I shoulda known, to be honest. Look at how off the mark I was. The texture is really awesome, though, and it blends really well into the skin. It doesn’t settle into creases or crepe up and cake. Still, I tried …

Check in your bags for the long haul with these concealers

An overview of my current concealer products. In case you have no idea what these do, concealers hide our blemishes, red spots, acne, and dark circles. They do almost nothing to your bags. I mean, let’s be real. No matter how much concealer you put on a surface that it not flat, the protrusion will cause a shadow. Like Krysty, I don’t really like hiding my bags because lighter concealers emphasize them and make them look baggier, or at least more noticeable. I think my issue is more on the ‘puffy’ side than ‘dark circles,’ so when I conceal under my eyes, I keep my expectations in check. Of course the puffs will show when I smile! The best thing I’ve ever done about that is come to terms with it. But that’s neither here nor there! I have found a favorite to use, however! Can you guess which one I like the best? 🙂 THE BODY SHOP TEA TREE CONCEALER (02) I think this might be my pinkest shade. I used this on my …

Drugstore Finds: Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum & Correcting Concealer

The Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum Foundation and the Bourjois Healthy Mix Correcting Concealer are two of my favorite face products at the moment. I was starting to swear off liquid foundations as the weather was just getting too hot and humid, but I couldn’t resist the Bourjois counter in Vietnam. It’s a little bit more pricey than retail in the UK, but it’s worth the little extra, because these are just so good! I got both in shade 53, which is 53 Light Beige for the foundation and 53 Dark Radiance for the concealer. I don’t like going lighter on foundations, so I didn’t want to risk it and got one of the darker shades available there. The consistency of the serum foundation is very smooth, though it’s not runny. It’s a gel, to be more specific. The concealer takes a bit of work. I like to warm it up between my fingers. I use it both on my under eye darkness and some blemishes, and it works great for both. It doesn’t really last …

Bloom’s Secret Weapon: Concealer Kit (Fair/Medium)

To be honest, I don’t really know what compelled me to pick up this Concealer Kit by Bloom, called Secret Weapon. I couldn’t be bothered to “conceal” until a few months ago when my sister introduced me to K-Palette’s concealer, and since it worked so well, I didn’t see the need to buy this. However, I think you can see the possible reason why I picked this up. This nifty little kit has three concealer colors (Fair, Light Medium), 2 correctors (green & yellow), and an illuminator. These come in a credit-card sized “tray” with a plastic sliding cover and a (pretty useless) brush. I was so excited to use this and photograph its pristine newness, but the plastic-y lining that protected the pans dipped into the two bigger pans and I was left with this creamy mess: Oh well. The card/cover flips over to reveal a nifty little “instruction” card, corresponding to each of the shades and their specific uses. I think the right shades have been interchanged, though, as the top right pan …
