We’ve been hitting unreal high temps here in Manila, and most days, I just like forgoing makeup. However, I recently wore my Ellis Faas Skin Veil* after going off of it for a while, and I remembered just how beautiful it makes my skin look like, so I thought I’d do a post on my favorite base combinations have been as of late.
I wore this look recently to a birthday dinner. The pear-like qualities of ColourPop’s Sleigh is a little subtle—it’s described as an “icy sage”—but that’s OK. It lets me wear a pink as bright as Tom Ford’s Flamingo, which is a shade that I’m still not sure why I even bought. I did a desk clear-out of my vanity area and fished out some of the under-appreciated items from the depths of my drawers. Everything I love is lost in drawers, as the song goes. Except Matt Berninger probably didn’t mean makeup. Ahem.
February was a pretty busy month for me. I spent a lot of time out of the house—art fair, two trips, et cetera—which isn’t something that usually happens. I didn’t experiment or play much with makeup this month, mostly because I didn’t have the time to bother with it (huhu), but here are a few favorites from the month, anyway, most of which are “tried and true” status.
This was supposed to be a New Old Face post, but I realized that most of these products, I’ve used quite a bit already anyway, there was no “new” factor to it. Anyway, I wore this on our Taiwan trip. I didn’t remember to take many FOTDs, so here’s one I did remember taking, heh. After years of overpacking makeup when I travel, I finally realized that going with a neutral eye is the best way to go. You can pair it with so many things like a bold lip or pops of color, and so on. I didn’t have to powder my face, either. I quite like this base combo! It’s the last day of January and I’m kind of really excited to say that I haven’t purchased any new makeup! In fact, I’ve been enjoying some of the spoils of my US trip on the last quarter of last year. I remembered that I wanted to use the MAKE Soft Focus Foundation a lot in January and February, so I reached for it when I put on makeup on this particular day.
