February Favorites

February was a pretty busy month for me. I spent a lot of time out of the house—art fair, two trips, et cetera—which isn’t something that usually happens. I didn’t experiment or play much with makeup this month, mostly because I didn’t have the time to bother with it (huhu), but here are a few favorites from the month, anyway, most of which are “tried and true” status.

One Love Organics Skin Savior Beauty Balm: This is such a great little pot of wonders. It can cleanse off your makeup and it is one of my go-to moisturizers, especially after I burnt my skin pretty badly after a trip to Caramoan. I’m a little nervous about running out of it, as I’m trying to limit my online purchases, but this might be one of my “forever” repurchases.

Indie Lee Squalane Oil: Another awesome skin care item, I use this as a light moisturizer for the day, as the beauty balm is a little bit too greasy, especially in this weather. This sinks in really well and moisturizes my skin through and through. Another item I’m terrified of running out of, but will probably be a repurchase when the time comes.

Glossier Skin Tint in Medium: This is really such a surprise; I never imagined I’d love this item as much as I do, haha. The only thing is that I wish it had even a tiny bit of SPF in it, but I’m happy to use this gorgeous base up.

Kjaer Weis Cream Foundation in Just Sheer: Before tanning up, I’d been loving this (honestly) forgotten formula, and I don’t know how I’m going to let go of it or if I even want to. I think I want to go a shade darker for the eventual repurchase. I still have quite a way to go, and even though I don’t want this tan to leave me, I’m waiting for the time I can use this again because it’s just such a lovely formula.

Le Métier de Beauté Peau Vierge Anti-Aging Pressed Powder in Shade 2: One of my staples. It’s a sheer pressed powder that just sets everything in place. I love this stuff. I’ve been using this pretty much everyday since I got it a few months ago and I have yet to see a glimmer of pan.

NARS Pro-Prime Smudgeproof Eye Base: HOLD THE PHONE. If you’re new, then you don’t know how much I hate this stuff. I hate this stuff… or hated it. It just never worked for me. When I made myself try to use it all up, it just got good. And now I love it. It’s really, really old, though. I don’t know what sorcery is at work here.

Addiction Ready-to-Wear Eye Quad in Sugar Rusk: Ever since vowing to lessen my makeup purchases, I’ve been rummaging through the things I do have and one of the things I’m glad to have rediscovered is this beautiful shimmery neutral quad by Japanese brand, Addiction. It is gorgeous.

K-Palette Rose-Scented Real Lasting Eyeliner*: I’ve been enjoying a good winged everyday eye, and my weapon of choice is (and always will be!) the liquid liner by K-Palette. This one’s a limited rose-scented version that just smoothly sweeps over the lid in a perf wing. I’d like to think that I’ve perfected my eyeliner, and it’s all because of K-Palette.

Le Métier de Beauté Anamorphic Lash Mascara in Midnight: Stop judging me; I know this mascara is old. It’s part of the things I want to use up, and honestly I enjoy mascaras more when they get drier and older. They just hold my curl better and don’t smudge around as much. This is one of my favorite formulas for sure.

ILIA Lipstick in Funnel of Love: An easy, neutral, Bardot-esque shade, I love the quiet statement this nude lip makes. It’s easy to wear, and the formula is gorgeous, too.

Aromateria Solid Perfume in Ender: Ideal to bring on trips, because there’s no spillage, I’ve been wearing this perfume for majority of the month.

  1. I’ve been eyeing that Ilia shade as well as the Kjaer Weis foundation. For someone who has normal to dry skin and like light to medium coverage, would you recommend this foundation? Cream foundations are such a hit and miss for me and I’m not sure if I want to splurge on it yet!

    • I like it a lot, but I understand it’s a bit much to spring for something you can’t quite test. My skin isn’t so fussy, so I was pretty lucky, but I don’t think I’d drop that much money if I can’t test and see for myself.
