Too Cool for School Hot Girl Lip Sticker in Pink Moon*

I received this new lipstick from Too Cool for School’s Hot Girl Lip Sticker line a few weeks ago! Pink Moon* is a violently bright shade that I don’t see myself wearing often, but it’s an otherwise great statement pink if you want to go bold. The Hot Girl Lip Sticker claims long wear (“adheres to skin & remains long vividly”), “healthy and resilient lips” c/o jojoba oil, smooth and “energetic” color/application, all in an itty-bitty portable size! The lipstick itself is pretty small, especially when you compare it to the standard size of lipsticks, but it does pack quite a punch. It’s a little too bright for me right now. I went to the beach last week (which explains my absence, I hope) and you guys, I fried like an egg. I am burnt to a crisp! And I really, really don’t want to go back to my ~natural~ skin color, even though the only foundation I can wear right now is my MAKE Soft Focus one, and that’s because I bought that one …

Video: Korea Haul, 2014!

Finally. I asked if anyone wanted a video haul, and a few said sure, so now here we are. I actually filmed and edited an earlier version of this, but decided that the camera was too up in my grillz so I ended up re-shooting allll the footage, because it was just not working out. Anyway, this is a bit longer than I’d like my videos to be, but I find that I actually kind of really like it when hauls are kinda long. (Is that just me?) Enjoy, prs! Too Cool for School Glam Rock Urban Shadows

Two of my purchases from Seoul were these Glam Rock Urban Shadows from Too Cool for School. I got a dirty olive in a satin finish (13 Viva Green) and a frosty light peach (3 Peach Glow). They are very easy colors to wear, apply, and pair together. The texture of the shadows is smooth, but not so soft and buttery that it goes all over the place. They crease on me without a primer, but so do all other eyeshadows, except for Ellis Faas Creamy Eyes.

Spotlight: Too Cool for School’s Dinoplatz Line

Steadily becoming one of my favorite Korean brands, Too Cool for School’s initial and long-standing hook for me was their Dinoplatz range. Designed by an American studio with commissioned illustrations from Hatori Sando, the Dinoplatz line is fun, fresh, quirky, and really, really cute. I was a goner, basically, so please forgive me if this review runs a little long. In 2013, I bought bath salts (?) and an illuminator from TCFS as part of my test run of the brand. I never ventured into their color cosmetics until I got samples from Too Cool for School PH (review) and until I went to several Too Cool for School branches in Korea and tried my hardest to resist. I came home with some Dinoplatz items: 3 chubby eye crayons (1 is for my sister!) and a cream glitter shadow. Sidenote Dinoplatz means “dino ground” or “dino space.” Their branding has “Dino,” a crossed-out “spiel,” and “platz.” Spielplatz is German for “playground.” The more you know. Too Cool for School’s Bestselling Lip Products

I was so thrilled to receive these three bestselling lip products from Too Cool for School to try out. Among the sea of girly, frilly, and soft-looking Korean brands, Too Cool for School definitely stands out because of their strong branding, identity, and packaging. The good thing is: their products are great, too! I received three of their bestselling lip products: Glam Rock Smoky Nudy Lips* (Php 715) — a soft nude lip best used to counter the intensity of a smoky eye. Kiss Time Ice Beam Glass* (Php 435) — a plumping lip gloss with a high-gloss, jelly system that provides moisture and vivid lipstick-like color. Max in Pocket Lip Balm* (Php 605) — it’s a pocket-sized lip balm with a chain, which makes it so great for travel. I was super excited for this as Krysty raved about it a few months ago. OK, let’s go by chronological order because I have no imagination. The Glam Rock Smoky Nudy Lip Color* is a great nude lipstick, housed in an edgy (as far as …

Preview: new in the mail

Occasionally, I’m lucky enough to receive some products from companies to try and test out for you guys. (And for me, too. Hehe.) This is a selection of the items I got in the mail since arriving back home, a.k.a. my backlog. I’ll be hopefully reviewing some of them in the days to come. 🙂 So, this is kind of a haul, but I hate it when people include gifts or PR samples in their “hauls,” so this isn’t technically a haul. You know what I mean. From the always-fun Korean brand, Too Cool for School, I received 3 of their new bestsellers: the Kiss Time Ice Beam (a moisturizing lip gloss with a “dual jelly system” that ensures vivid color expressions and gives the illusion of a lipstick, Php 435), the Max in Pocket (pocket-sized lip balm for always vital and moist lips, Php 605), and the Smoky Nude Lip (a soft nude lipstick to show off dark smoky makeup, Php 715). They have a new kiosk at SM Megamall Fashion Hall, so be …

Unboxing: BDJ Box May 2014*

Hi everyone! I’m back from a (sorta) beach trip, which I hope explains the absence. I have been quite busy and then I jumped into a holiday, so. I guess that means I left y’all here. Ah! I was met with the BDJ Box for May 2014* when I got home from Puerto Galera. Thank you, BDJ Box Team! It was a sweet surprise. 🙂 For the past few months, we’ve been getting so much makeup, I didn’t know if I could handle any more of it (a lie), but I was so happy to see what we got for this month (not a lie)! May 2014’s theme is Summer Radiance. I think it’s kind of a stretch, since I got a strange, albeit great, mishmash of products. I think they all serve their own purpose, theme or no theme. The first most noticeable full-size item is the too cool for school Pumpkin Sleeping Pack (Php 689, 100ml). I’m not quite sure how to use it, but it’s an overnight treatment that’s supposed to make …
